When I look at the media, mostly I see negative things about China but in people's mind China still grows strongly. Which one is true?
Saying China is on the verge of collapse is a bit of an overstatement, and I think a lot of it has to do with how media spins stories. It remind me of when a rumor starts in a small town and over time everyone knows it whether if it is true or not. China has issues in economy policies , politics and social environments. But which country doesn't have problems?
The media loves a dramatic headline because it sells and people read more. Especially if it is about China people seme more interested. "China on the brink of collapse" is a lot more eye-catching than "China faces economic challenges." It's important to observe and not get caught up in some eye-catching headlines. China is a massive economy so it has an important place in the worl stage. But like every country it has its own challenges.
Realistically, they're probably going to analyze what went wrong, come up with a new strategy, and bounce back. China is more likely to adapt and change strategies than to just collapse.

Nearly all of China's money is tied up in real estate, which for decades was the only investment tool available to most Chinese people. And the system in China was that apartments were sold - and payments were required - before construction even began.
Worse, because so many properties were being bought as investments rather than living quarters, builders realized that no one was coming to move into these building complexes, so they would build the outside concrete shell as cheaply as possible, and spend the rest of the money leasing more land to build more properties, and repeat the cycle. Eventually, this pyramid scheme runs out, and that's what led to the collapse of Evergrande, which essentially resulted in half a trillion dollars of investment money.
And, just this week, it seems that 3 more giant real estate companies are also bankrupt, and likely more to follow. That's trillions more dollars that will be wiped out.
On top of that is the flight of manufacturing from China. The harsh COVID lock downs were the final straw, and since 2021, more than 50% of manufacturering for foreign companies has left China, and the trend is continuing. Apple seems poised to leave China completely, but it will take some time to build new factories, train workers, and move the whole supply chain - though that work is underway.
Put that together with the demographic collapse, and China is going to end up losing a very significant amount of the progress it has made since the 80s.30 Reply

u +1 yWhy are US-Americans always bouncing between two extremes? Has the two-party-system division bled into every aspect of thinking? Reality is depicted in grey tones, not black and white. The same goes for China, some years they are under-performing, sometimes they are on-par, sometimes they are over-performing. Fact is that China is running into several long-term problems related to their aging and shrinking population and that will of course diminish all economic growth factors. That does not mean the country will collapse or even come close to it.

+1 yIt's disgusting how fake these stories about china are and I'm sure they slander other nations as well. I saw one website that talks about the most commonly spoken languages in the world and Chinese was according to them spoken by only one billion people when there are over two billion people who live in China. I've seen other people talk about how Chinese parents kill their female daughters cause they want males who make more money, and this is another ridiculous lie. Chinese people, like all people, are normal human beings, not some tribal death cult in the fifth century with no sense of decency or moderation.

There are NOT 2 billion people who live in China, and in fact, China was recently forced to admit that they had overcounted (or, more correctly, over-reported) their population by over 100M people. Moreover, these phantom people were all reported to be young people in their teens and 20s, but they never really existed.
China is well into a population collapse. In another decade, China will have 4 people of retirement age for every active worker, which is unsustainable.
This is a result of their incredibly rapid industrialization that began 50 years ago, which always lowers the birthrate compared to a more rural population, PLUS the 35 years of the One Child Policy.
China's population peaked 10-15 years ago, and it will soon fall below 1 (and needs to be 2.1 in order to just sustain the population numbers). In 20 years, China will be below 900M, assuming nothing else bad happens.

They have the entire world dependant on them for production and goods thanks to a very successful slave labor strategy. On top of that they are a fascistic country (They call themselves communists but they have a market, so I find that fascistic instead since it's the government colluding with corporations) and while I absolutely despise fascism it is the most effective form of governance in the world.

The trouble I see is that they see Biden as weak and incompetent and will and are already exploiting that. They will likely move on Taiwan before Trump is inaugurated to divert away the attention of their 300 million modern cultural class (not the billion villagers) and attempt to place them on a war setting like us in WW2. It's real but the clock is ticking. When it happens, the Biden Administration will walk into dog shytte.

+1 yRussia 2 years ago also was on a verge of historical collapse and yet their economy has never been better (literally) China also has been ""collapsing"" for the past 30 years and yet a lot of people who went to China said their infrastructure is 20 time better than in US. Do not believe media. Their primary job is to report only bad news, because bad news sells and makes Americans feel better about themselves.

+1 ychina is at the verge of collapse? what? dude they are single handedly outcompeting the entire west in most technolocial areas xD like i'm not saying that's a good thing, cause china is fucking us over with the complete ignorance for intellectual property. we should never have started producing over there. now they have all our knowhow and don't need us anymore. they are in the best geostrategical position they have been since i'm alive at least.

Anonymous(45 Plus)+1 yI don't think they're on the verge of collapse. But China will always have problems controlling their population because it is NOT a free state. It's a human condition to want to be free and unencumbered (ask the working poor here if they feel like slaves). China is trying to do what America did but in mere decades. If Asian people were not such a docile (overall) culture they probably would have had another revolution long ago.
00 Reply920 opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. No, the greatest enemy we've ever faced, as a nation (the media) is completely behind any organization that the Dims are in cahoots with. China certainly qualifies as a prime example of that.
00 Reply2.4K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. I don't see it collapsing anytime soon. Putinstan is nowhere near collapsing and they're killing off their own economy and workers on a daily basis. It's still standing. People just survive like rats in the sewers.

00 Reply China has collapsed before and it's still there. A country the size of China doesn't disappear overnight. I'd be more worried about America because technically you guys still have something to lose.
00 ReplyThe entire world is on the verge of collapse. The kites already stole everything and all of our paychecks are paid on make believe. Get vitcoing before it's to late.

+1 ySaying it's on the verge of collapse is going too far. But some of their policies, particularly the One Child Policy, are coming back to bite them. So a harsh recession isn't out of the question.

Opinion Owner+1 yOne the largest gold buyers globally, one of the largest miners and a refusal to use alloyed gold
So they control 20-25 of all the gold already, those pay offs could line that towards 50% and they control the market
Opinion Owner+1 yAn EMP happens and there goes Bitcoin along with most other electronics plus the volatile nature of Bitcoin and how far can a Bitcoin divide because gold at the moment can be formated at 1/1000 of an ounce so a kilo can be turned in 32,150 approximately $2 pieces

Opinion Owner+1 y@Jersey2 The Chinese can make that go away n ways western countries can’t
Opinion Owner+1 y@Jersey2 yeah they can. The superfluous men can be put to work, the aged will be ignored and the real estate bubble is inconsequential when nobody actually owns property in China anyway. You think the ccp won’t do it and have ”unanimous” support?
If you think Biden’s election win was rigged, you haven’t seen anything compared to China.
