You know, I have to put this out there in someway just to gauge how people are feeling right now, because if you haven’t noticed, times are pretty tough right now.
But I have to be honest, as much as I’d love to meet a good girl and have her by my side, it’s hard to look at all of these traditional expectations placed on men… buy her this, buy her that, purchase a fancy diamond ring, have a lavish wedding with hundreds of attendees in an out of this world venue… you know like 10’s of thousands of dollars for one token of affection and for one night respectively…
Hate to say it, I used to not think much about it, but is it not a bit much? And it’s like good luck having to tell a woman that wants everything to be everything she’s ever dreamed of, from a young age, to just magically come to terms with reality and be like “You know what? You’re right, it IS ridiculous.”
Maybe I’m missing something, but I’m just curious what people think here. I just tend to feel that the days are gone where people are even able to play into society’s old traditions. Day to day life right now has been pretty tough - trying to get to a point where you could even begin to entertain these ideas, you know? Curious what you all think. Thanks.

You don't have to purchase a fancy ring or have a lavish wedding if you don't want to. There's nothing wrong with a simple ring and small ceremony or courthouse wedding. I've been to a small wedding recently and I know lots of people who are getting married with just family around on the beach or the mountains. It's your money and you can set whatever budget you want and if she's not ok with that then she's not marrying you for the right reasons and you shouldn't marry her
Yeah it’s not worth it to be honest. Most guys these days can’t afford to even take a woman on a date and women refuse to pay for the men because they’re stuck up. 🤷🏻♂️
They CAN… but when a woman expects to be wined and dined all the time, like when is it ever enough to just sit across from each other, have a conversation, and just get to know each other?
Could be at the local burger joint for all I care. But it always has to be some grand gesture, no?
Honestly I haven’t been on a date in 9 years I gave up on women after I was cheated on in all 4 of my relationships and falsely accused when I decided to give it one last shot.
