What does the Constitution say about who gets to vote in local or state elections?
It varies by state, but almost anyone can vote in local elections as long as they have a driver's license, which is not hard to get nowadays. I don't think they even have to pass a driver's test. And most don't have car insurance that you only find out when one has an accident. That is why most accidents are hit and run here in California. So again, it is the taxpayers that have to pay, not the illegals.
@Daniela1982 what state gives driver's licenses without a test or proof of insurance? I think you're thinking of state issued photo IDs, not driver's licenses
@OtterMan68 Well they are driving here so if they don't have a license then they are driving illegally. But they don't need one to travel as they get free airfare to where they want to go.

@OtterMan68 Are you replying to the right thread? Flying free is not the same as a driver's license. I never heard anything about Africans flying free from Africa to the US, just illegals in the US being able to fly from state to state, not out of it. But if the illegals were going back to their own country, I'm sure that could be arranged.

While it is true they have some good people coming here they also have cartel members, drug dealers, sex traffickers, murderers, rapists, and pond scum, and I'm sure a lot of people you wouldn't living in your neighborhood. You can't refute that. This is a slap in the face to every legal immigrant who have to wait years to gain entrance, and after spending a lot of money to do so. They also have to have a sponsor that will verify they have employment and a place to live. They also do not get free anything as all the illegals get - and on the taxpayer's dime and backs. But you are from Canada so what happens in the US is any or your concern I'm sure. But don't discount the opinion of people who live here and are seeing all this shit going down where we live.
They're doing more than just letting them vote in Commiefornia -- they're giving them gov't jobs that pay very lucratively, and carry full benefits, pension, medical, etc.

@Billlewis The government did the same thing in California with the Vietnamese immigrants after the Viet Nam war. The Post Office was forced to hire them even though they couldn't read or write English very good. My dad said that these carriers misdelivered mail all over the place. When he complained to the Postmaster he was told that they had no choice, the Government forced them to hire them.
@Daniela1982 Yes I’m from Canada, but I am also a US citizen as I was born there. Of course I care about what happens. But as you say this issue is only happening in California, then this is a pointless question as we all know California went way off the deep end during the Obama years, and maybe even before that. So maybe people need to try voting for politicians who actually give a crap about legal immigrants with green cards trying to become citizens, and who are much harder on ones who sneak in through a hole in the fence.
