Walked into the men’s room at Target yesterday and a young female employee was in there washing her hands?

I had to use the bathroom after shopping at target yesterday. When I walked in the men’s room I immediately saw a young female employee washing her hands at the counter top. I froze in my tracks and started to walk out thinking I accidentally walked into the wrong bathroom. But then I noticed the urinals and another guy using one of them. It was definitely the men’s room.

I glanced again at the young woman again wondering if it really was just a young man with long hair. Her face was definitely the attractive/feminine structure of a young woman. She was about 5’ 4’’ too. Sure there are short guys but just putting two and two together it was most likely a young woman. And if it was a “trans woman” then wouldn’t she be using the woman’s bathroom instead

Thankfully she was finishing up and walked out. I was able to do my business without her being in there. But I can’t help but wonder how a young woman would at all feel comfortable using the men’s room. Even if she identifies as “a guy” it still has to feels really messed up. She could have been a minor too (16 year olds work at Target) which made it even it all exponentially worse.

You hear of biological men identifying as “women” using women’s restrooms/locker rooms. Not going to get started on that. But how could a biological woman feel comfortable in the men’s room?

I felt really queasy seeing her in there especially given she might have been a minor. I’m not worried about what she might do to guys but rather worried what guys might do to her. Anybody can go to target.

Just FYI she walked out before I had to use the urinal. But it definitely made me feel queasy for a moment. Very queasy. Who knows. Maybe she gets some sort of adrenaline rush using the men’s bathroom and seeing perplexed reactions to guys.

Still though I see this as bad idea. Any one can go to Target and there are some really sick and creepy opportunistic people out there. She’s putting herself in a risky situation. Not likely anything will ever happen but it’s not impossible.

That is messed up. A few weeks ago a woman walked through the mens locker room at the gym. She walked in through the pool entrance and walked through the whole locker room and past the showers. I did not really notice. I thought it was a guy with long hair. After she was gone everyone told me it was a woman.

How old was she look? It goes from very uncomfortable if everybody is adults to very scary if an underage person does this. I don’t know the age of the young woman I saw 2 days ago. But I hope to God she was at least 18 if she’s intentionally walking into public men’s rooms.

They are likely doing it for an adrenaline rush and to say “look at me I’m modern and woke”. To be “rebellious”. They also WANT someone to complain so they can have “victim” status of being “discriminated against”.

Yup. That’s one. You worded the scenario as though you think women are completely powerless and harmless. I can think of half a dozen ways a woman could easily victimize men in a men’s room.

My concern for her is genuine. But what I said was a major concern. Makes guys queasy and for good reason.

If she’s mentally unstable enough to walk in somewhere where she shouldn’t be then who knows what else her twisted delusional mind can conjure up. And she’s in a place there are no cameras.

And worst of all as mentioned earlier she could be underage. So who does modern society usually believe first when an accusation is made? A young woman or a middle aged man? But men are told we are just being “paranoid” when if I just come out and say that.

I remember going to a bar for the first and last time cause a friend from the library said a poetry event would happen there and the waitress was wearing very revealing clothes and I thought her chances of getting mistreated or stalked would be 90% if she worked there longer than more than 6 months and I did not know why she did not know she was putting herself at risk.

My friend made $600 a day as a bar tender and quit her job in less than a year cause she hated the way guys objectified her. She later worked a job that paid $20 an hour. My other friend also made more than a doctor as a very good looking waitress and quit in 3 months cause guys treated her like a sex object. She later got a job at giant tiger as a cashier and made a few dollars more than minimum wage.

It must be nice to have the OPTION to make $600 a day as unskilled laborer. Men do NOT have that option. We don’t have the easy option to use our sex appeal to make easy money with an unskilled occupation. Unless you are a chippendale or something a very few men qualify for that. Or if you dance at a gay bar and virtually no straight man could tolerate that long.

Not to say how your friend was treated was “okay”. But she did get well compensated for that discomfort. She also has the CHOICE to work in that environment or not. Men can’t make quick cash that way.

I don't know, it doesn't really seem like a big deal though. They work in retail, they probably drive a car, I'm sure they do much more dangerous things every day than use a public restroom.

If they were trans, then either way the men's bathroom is often the safest option for us at our workplace, especially for a teen who likely wouldn't be able to be stealth among their peers. It's true that trans people are significantly more likely to be assaulted in public restrooms, but it is becoming less common, especially in workplaces that enforce non-discrimination policies (because you're more likely to be assaulted by a coworker than a stranger).

First time I saw an apparent biological female do this in a men’s room. She was attractive too which makes her even more of a target for the wrong kind of sick opportunistic men.

An incident might happen maybe 1 out of a 1000 times. Unlikely but not impossible. But still she’s putting herself in a more risky situation.

Seriously, a woman is going to get assaulted by her friends or family like 95% of the time. If a woman wants to use the bathroom where a strange man who may want to assault her could be pissing, why is that any more dangerous than if she uses the bathroom where he would actively be looking for her if he wanted to assault her? It's really not a very big difference.

I went to an EDM show about 2 years ago. When I went to relieve myself I notice there was only one large unisex bathroom for everybody. It fit like 20 people.

So there was a hallway with urinals on both sides and women are walking behind the guys. When it’s time to zip up most guys step back. But I had felt I was going to flash some woman so I stayed close to the urinal

Women can’t be comfortable knowing men can hear them farting and defecating in the stalls (or vice versa). Especially since we are all strangers. The entire idea was completely asinine. .

At least at the EDM event it was 21 and up. But I sure as hell don’t want that kind of discomfort with minors walking around in a place like Target or something.

And yes there are sick and twisted individuals out there. This gives them more of an opportunity like shoving someone into a stall and closing the door. Why increase the risk of this?

... gendered bathrooms is not a universal thing. Many countries have unisex public restroom all the time, as normal. Why would women care if men hear their facts any more than if other women hear their farts? Why would men care if a women is near them when they pee more than if a man is near them when they pee? It's a pretty American thing to be so uncomfortable with the opposite sex but comfortable with the same sex about normal bodily functions like this. Seriously. It's not a big deal. Look it up—Sweden for example has genderless public restrooms. And it works fine. There's literally no reason to panic about this. It's not dangerous.

My 16 year old daughter would be brought up to have more sense than to trust going to a place where potential perverts hang out. However, my job as a father is one thing, but nobody will ever thank me as an interfering judgmental man who tries to teach other people's kids!

But am I being “judgmental” if I feel awkward having to use a urinal when a young woman who is possibly underage is standing a few feet away from me in a public restroom? Being an adult man I’m the one who has to be careful or I will be the one who is “judged”.

She left before I did my business. She just got done washing her hands. And I would of held it longer if I had to until she left.

But really what is wrong with this picture? Kids are getting a bizarre adrenaline rush with this “trans/gender pluralism” bs going on in our culture.
