Is it really called tithes if my offering is only less than 10%?

My salary is only $300 and I live in Asia so that should be 10% of my salary in tithes so that should be $30 but I can only afford to give $10 my mom said its not called tithes cuz tithes is 10% of your fruit of labor its just called love offering. I have low salary and thats all I can afford to give. My mom said if I give 10% tithes of my salary then God will give it back to me twice like for example I give $30 God will give it back to me twice.. what do you guys think?

if you live with mom give 5$ as an offering. if you pay rent do not give charity when you are poor.

Your mom is confused. You give only whatever you can afford, when you can afford it.
