It seems strange to think that in the 21st century, there are still nations living under colonialism.
Starting in 1990, on the 30th anniversary of the Declaration on the Granting of Independence to Colonial Countries and Peoples, the United Nations has declared four consecutive international decades for the eradication of colonialism.
The UN is now in the Fourth International Decade for the Eradication of Colonialism (2021 – 2030). Today, according to the UN, fewer than 2 million people live under colonial rule in the 17 remaining non-self-governing territories.
These territories include Western Sahara, Anguilla, Bermuda, British Virgin Islands, Cayman Island, Falkland Islands, Montserrat, Saint Helena, Turks and Caicos Islands, United States Virgin Islands, Gibraltar, American Samoa, French Polynesia, Guam, New Caledonia, Pitcairn, and Tokelau.
Here in the United States, I believe Puerto Rico should also be considered in that category. It still needs to be resolved as to whether to make Puerto Rico a state or to give it the right of self-determination, with all of the problems that brings in helping to establish that state.

So that is TWO to remove from the list. - 24 d
@strateguy632 Thanks for pointing that out. But, I don't think they have complete independent sovereignty since the US Department of the Interior is still involved in an administration aspect. At least elections are a step towards total decolonization.

I read a lot about fake autism diagnoses used against pharmaceutical companies... it's kind of my "occupational" interest, because I have a degree in psychology
it's nice to read about alternative ways of diagnosing autistic patients and to see the science is doing a significant progress in this direction

Western countries letting in millions of foreigners without ceasing. No one seems to reach a point of it being enough and time to close the borders and to shut off the spiggot. Many seem to just think think millions off different values, different culture, religion, traditions and lanuguage peoples should flood our countries by the millions... forever. No end ever. It is never enough.
Everyone seems to want to come to the USA, England, Germany... etc. yet those from these countries seem to hate themselves and act like their countries are so bad. They do not see the paradox that everyone wants to move there but they think their own countries are so bad.

I mean, I haven’t been researching or finding new areas of topic…. I’ve been so focused domestically due to upcoming Presidential Election & Congress and Senate races…
Anyways, there is big issues everyone should strive to research around globe from deforestation, viruses & disease, pollution, chemicals in the water, lack of biodiversity, destroying of ecosystems, wildfires, earthquakes, monsoons, typhoons, tsunamis, extinction, wars, etc.
Have a nice rest of your week and a great weekend too.

Very recently, I'm wondering if what is called western block or western philosophy should or should not include USA, because the more I look at USA the more I see differences with EU.
Though it's a very complicated topic because it involves at least three fields of study at once, history, sociology and political philosophy.
Is it a global issue, well, given the political and cultural power of USA on this planet, I'd say yes it is lol31 Reply- 23 d

The impending loss of many staple crops as we know them right now. Honey, bananas, chocolate, corn are all being harmed by monoculture and the methods of farming giants like Monsanto who continue to modify and tinker with seed stock to make farmers even more dependent on Monsanto for seeds.

I’ve been living in a left wing leaning city for about 8 years now but I grew up in a very conservative area and family so now when I hear about what politicians on both sides are promising I question how truthful they are. To me it seems like they will say anything to get votes and not actually do what they promised.

In general that is a problem but this time we SAW got to see each one in power already.
Trump was already president he added to the wall as he said, "do what they promised." As you wrote.
He put tarrifs even on china!
Harris has done the opposite policy by opening the borders.

I live in Canada so I can just watch American politics from the sidelines. I’m not fond of Trump but at this point I think he is best for America right now. As for my country, Trudeau has completely screwed us over and now his own supporters that voted him in regret that decision.
- 23 d
Does voting actually count? Anyway, Cuckdeau is not making any decisions there. makes sense that Cuckdeau being an order-following puppet, is why during the "small fringe minority" convoy, European soldiers were flown in and deployed against Canadian protestors.
- 23 d
Cuckdeau. Haha I love that! At this point I feel like my vote never counts. He’s been working with another left wing party so they have more supporters at this point
- 23 d
Justine Cuckdeau was years ago. Does anyone know Justine's correct pronoun? ↗
Now it is @justin_hugethroat - 22 d
Oh I never heard of her. I thought it was a clever nickname for Justin Trudeau

Not global but my chocolate wrappper said slavery still hurts people in africa.
So we need to end slavery globally somehow. "the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs reports children being sold to Arab herdsmen in Chad by their parents due to poverty".
How the bleep is that even an option?
And what parent values money more than their kid?
