Why can't people get better jobs?

I keep saying this all the time but no one ever listens. There are too many people.
In 2000 there were 280 million people in the U. S.
Now 24 years later there are 350 million.
In that same short period of time, not even a generation, the world population has gone from 6 billion to 8 billion. At the beginning of the 20th century it was only 1.5 billion.
That's way too many people for everyone to have "better jobs." One lady on here recently said, "who else wants to have 10 or more kids like I do?"
Add to that computerization, robots and artificial intelligence, as well as most of that happening overseas anyway for a fraction of what it costs in the U. S.
Look at healthcare, supposedly one of our "top industries." You walk into a doctor's office, for example, and there's a doctor who's making around $300,000. Then there's a support staff of maybe 17 other people, all of whom are making less than $40,000 except for one office manager who's making maybe $70,000 and skips out at 2:30 every day. Multiply that by the number of doctors, and the number of doctors' offices, and you've got tens of millions of people working 50 or 60 hours a week making barely enough to survive, trying to pay for a $400,000 house that really should only cost $150,000.
After 4 years of a president who's been completely senile since before the 2019 primaries, people are about to elect an absolute lunatic for president, someone who has zero competence to even run an Office Depot, someone who doesn't have even a basic understanding of economics or any other aspect of governance really, because the ladies on The VIew say we're supposed to. But people really need to be looking at their own finances and the economic situation as a whole and realize if we have even one more term of this intentional destruction of our national interests, we're done.
But instead they come on here and complain that they're having to work 3 jobs. We're more concerned with Netflix and P Diddy what's happening on our phones than what's truly important in our lives, and we're paying the price for it.
Because they don't have job skills.
Because they job hop and are not a prospect for long term employment.
Because they don't look.
Because they don't have private transportation and are unwilling to use public transportation.
Because public transportation is not available.
Because they are uneducated.
Because they are not motivated.
Etc.
Thanks for MHO!
Usually it's either 1) there aren't any in their area, 2) they're all taken & the people can't retire, 3) they dont have connections or are somehow discriminated against so can't get the good jobs, or 4) they're a shit worker who would get fired except from shit jobs (but still deserve to LIVE & therefore a LIVING WAGE at those shit jobs).
Do you have any idea how much time it takes to build new skills? I do. I work for 8 hours and there are days that I work on building additional skills on educational programs for extra 8 which totals in 16 hours.
Let alone that you also need money in many cases to do so. It is not easy.

Perhaps they can't find one willing to hire them?
Almost nobody can work 3 jobs unless they are all part time, which tells you the work they can find is itself overwhelmingly part time.
Probably because it is extremely expensive to have a full time employees due to various mandates the most expensive of which is Obamacare's coverage mandates.
On top of that in many professions or almost any profession below certant skill levels, there is an entire world of people willing and effectively able to do any job.
Since nearly all of them are also willing and able to do it for almost nothing given the prevailing global wage is a tiny fraction of what is required in any first world country least of all America, they can generally outsource or import a replacement to keep labor costs down.
In the US this is even legal as they simply have to tell the goverment no American wants the job which of course Americans don't at the rate they are offering.
Federal politicians don't seem bright enough to realize you need to dramatically jack up the taxes on work visa labor if you want to keep businesses from lowballing similarly skilled American labor.
Because sadly this economy has turned to complete shit and the job market is a complete joke , landing a decent job today is like hitting the lottery , it doesn’t matter what skills and experience you have , you are in a drawing with a bunch of other people that are seeking jobs as well , so unless you know someone , the chances of anyone landing a decent job today is a very slim chance , I was laid off from my job the beginning of this year and I have applied to over 600 jobs that I am well qualified for , and I am having no luck whatsoever , it’s been nothing but a run around and smoke being blown up my ass the only jobs I hear back from are jobs that barely pay shit that want to work you like a slave. I have been a hard worker for many of years and I never experienced anything like this in my lifetime , this country has gone to shit and it’s just going to get worse.
If the jobs don't exists then people can't get them. Half of all job postings are fake. They are either recruiters looking to build talent pools of potential workers to sell leads to companies or they are bogus advertisements by companies to create the appearance of growth to boost stock prices or to suppress decent by overworked staff. You don't like your job? Well we're interviewing right now... Either work harder or you will be replaced. It's fake new narrative building. You should understand that. It's what you do all day.
You have to understand political mathematics
100 highly skilled well paid full time jobs were lost.
200 shit part time minimum wage jobs were created.
Hence we found work for 200 people and everyone loves us.
Most of the jobs growth is happening in government and hospitality. The pay is shit but you WILL be able to find work.
The jobs people tend to want have not experienced much growth at all.
That's a great question. As I understand it, the jobs people want tend to be the jobs they thought they were going college for.
Decent paying white collar jobs, like something you'd find on Wall Street or in a bank. Unionized manufacturing seems to be attractive. Skilled labor also attracts a certain kind of person, provided that they have the training for it. Stuff that pays well, gives benefits, and provides you a certain amount of freedom.
That makes sense. You're about 10 years older than me, I'm sure you've seen how much nepotism is in the workplace these days. Particularly for the jobs that will give you any kind of meaningful sense of freedom. You either have to have insane amounts of experience or you have to know someone. It's no wonder people are fed up; they're tired of being abused.
Greedy business owners, lack of education, and capitalism
and DEI/anti-white racism
@Sevenpointfive funny how whites are still dominant. Yet you feel so vulnerable.
@Sevenpointfive Caucasians?
nope!
@Sevenpointfive well... what then?
hint: they're in a genocidal war right now
@Sevenpointfive Ukrainians? Jews? Palestinians?
the middle one
@Sevenpointfive Jews? Other than being guilty of genocide lately, how so?
they've certainly fired a lot of people lately. they seem to be behind DEI. they don't like white men. so maybe "people" in your question is too broad?
@Sevenpointfive it actually was not my question originally but I get it...
i know. cya on the unemployment line.
@Sevenpointfive I sure hope not. I'm self-employed...
that's cool. me too. i meant soup line. i volunteer and try to give back. i donate enough.
@Sevenpointfive I love soup!
you fcuking vagrant~~! stay away from my pets!
@Sevenpointfive No worries.
It's amazing how the economy is doing great but I can't get a decent job despite having an amazing track record. Oh, and the government owes me over a thousand dollars in tax returns but they can't afford to pay me back. The economy is amazing though.
Minimum wage should pay for a basic apartment for a single person. If it does not then it is a slave wage.
Lack of true education, the gig "economy" by which folk are regarded contractors not employees, enabling their bosses to refuse to give them benefits such as health care, dental care, etc, not enough STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) students, who are in the courses which will lead to the highest-paying jobs... should I continue?
I donl t know. I am nothing special and I have had many good jobs that paid well and had good benefits. I guess it is a question of what you want to do with your life.
So glad I chose the trades! Education paid for... zero debt... will be retired by the time y'all find your perfect job.
Asshole
Training and higher education costs time and money, which they may not be able to afford on minimum wage or because they have kids or sick relatives.
Because life and the way the system has been created it isn't possible for everyone to have a good paying job.
Blame this ish and greedy system that screws people over by putting wealth over the welfare of the people.
some people want better jobs but not to work more...
Many reasons but there are only so many pieces of the pie.
Statistics especially ones politicians use are not something you can go by, often the studies are a loaded deck.
Thanks for admitting the Biden/Harris administration has fucked regular Americans over.
Yeah. . . trickle down economics. Works great in conferences and seminars and Ayn Rand's crap writings. Complete disaster in reality.
You won't like the answers...
ask comrade Scamala that question
Because people like took all the good ones?
