For sure I'm not afraid to have my own beliefs even if they aren't normalized in our society. I will say tho like with religion I grew up with it and the brainwashing ran sooo deep. In my adult years I've really had to work on stopping that and finding what I acutally believe instead of just reading a 2000 year old book and blindly following it

Yes, people do a lot of things as a result of societal expectations. That’s not what you asked, you asked if someone could tell the difference between doing things society told them to do/believe and their actual personality beyond that mold. I’m explaining how someone can be able to take part in that thought process to be able to separate their inner monologue from the things they are taught.
