I had a more detailed answer to this on another post, but the very shortened version of it is that Zelenskyy was installed as a puppet, so anything he may have done to instigate the war comes back to that, and who told him to do what. Zelenskyy himself is the main reason negotiations are stalling, so Trump is probably mounting pressure on him to come to the table. That's something he frequently does both in business and politics, so I'm more inclined to believe it's hot air than anything else.

I think US has led Ukraine in this war to gain control over resources there. Now comes Trump with his amateurish negotiation skill and demands Ukraine surrenders but pays back $300bn to US. Zelensky didn't start the war. After the CIA engineered coup, Russia tried to reach a peaceful accord for 8 years but the U. S. and NATO countries convinced Zelensky not to negotiate because they wanted to play brinksmanship with Russia.

Russia finally realized that it had no other alternative if it was to retain it's naval base in Sevastopol, prevent NATO from occupying Ukraine, and save Russians and Russian speaking people in Crimea and eastern Ukraine from extermination by Nazis.

I think Zelenskyy probably feels very betrayed, but that is to be expected with Trump in power. Trump is trying to "seal a deal" by placating the alligator Putin.
