I know that's not what he actually meant but I think this is more humorous since what he actually said is too crazy.

What he said is pretty reasonable. Many autistic people are classified as disabled and end up on social security. I have an autistic cousin and the only reason he can work sometimes is because 1) the company he works for is owned by my aunt's family, and 2) my uncle was his supervisor/trainer. He's smart, but autistic, so he doesn't always show up for work, he can't deal with people, and he even had a mental break down and tried to commit suicide and landed himself in a mental health ward of a hospital for roughly a year. No normal employer would ever take him on. If it wasn't for family he would never hold a job and thus never pay taxes, and he's just collect social security for being disabled. Being that my aunts family is substantially wealthy and my uncle was willing to manage him, my cousin has worked in IT maintaining the computer systems of a large business out of sight of the general public but it is still very challenging for him to maintain a routine even though he is mentally capable of doing the work. When his parents die he probable will break down even though there will still be plenty of money to meet all his needs and opportunity within the company he works for... Without emotional guidance it's pretty much going to be impossible for him to function.

RFK Jr didn't say autistic people should be exempt from paying taxes, he said a percentage of autistic people suffer from extreme cases of autism and will never pay taxes, go on dates, or drive a car and wants to get to the bottom of rise in case's of autism. What RFK Jr said isn't crazy and is a sad reality for close to 30% of autistic people. Go talk to parents of autistic children on the low end of the autism spectrum, many of them agree with RFK Jr and feel relief that the rising rates of autism is finally being taken seriously. Getting to the bottom of what causing the increased rates of autism shouldn't be political, but sadly it it is. A few days ago, I interacted with a father on social media who was getting a lot of hate for sharing his story about his son becoming a non functional autistic who needs 24/7 care
I've seen his speech about "autism epidemic" in some comedy news show. I thought this guy isn't a clown like Donnie, Elon but he is.
High functioning autistic people shouldn’t be in my opinion.
People with severe austim yes
Did you know his father was the brother of past American president John F Kennedy?
Did you also know his ex wife Mary Kennedy commited suicide?

What did he actually say?
He thinks vaccines cause autism and he said it's a tragedy that autistic people will never have a job, never pay taxes, never play baseball, never go on a date and can't use a toilet unassisted.
He's like one step away from saying killing disabled people would be the kind thing to do, which Trump has actually said before.
This week, I had an almost 18 year old boy declared incompetent. When he was born, he had a normal Apgar and he was hitting all of the milestones until he had one particular vaccine, and that stopped his forward progress. He is severely autistic, non-verbal, and can't even wipe his own ass. That doesn't PROVE that his condition was caused by the vaccine, but I've heard too many similar stories to ignore them.
There is a wide chasm between expressing pity for another person's miserable life and suggesting that euthanasia would be a kind solution.
RFK said some environmental factor is causing autism. That we are doing this to our own children and he basically claimed we should fix it being that it is disable a large part of the population and showed concern for our children.
He's nuts. Eugenecist vax denier
Specifically, the way I see it is if the Autistic individual can’t be independent with the ability to perform simple tasks in their own lives then there should be an exemption from taxes. In my Special Ed Class, there was this kid who couldn’t even do their backpack and was obviously not learning from the class the way ‘normal’ Autistics / other learning disables were learning and he remained that way for over a decade so I highly doubt he can maintain himself now so an exemption from taxes would be needed in my view.
I don’t agree with RFK Jr on the ‘rise of Autism & ADHD’ since I see it boiled down to 3 factors 1. Genetic lineage 2. New systems of diagnosis 3. Different attitudes to learning disabilities as a whole.
It was a pretty astonishing speech. On the one hand, he's old, and the term's meaning has changed quite a lot over time, and someone who is now considered to have "high-functioning autism" (ie. one of those most likely to go to college, have a job, etc) might previously have been described as having Asperger's syndrome, which was a separate diagnosis, and not a form of autism.
On the other hand, you really would expect the Secretary of Health to be aware of that.
He's NUTS
He claims he will be aboe to find out the root cause of Autism in September. He has said this a few times and seems pretty sincere about it. It would be a huge win if he pulls it off.
Medical research doesn’t work that way. This is not a square numbers game like planning a subdivision.
@DryGermanGuy no but breakthrous gh appen. The rate has risen dramatically so there must be a root cause.
Uhm yeah, research breakthroughs do happen but not planned as in „we will have a breakthrough in September“.
Ummm... That's cuz of better diagnostics.
And tbh, there's more pressing public health problems than autism
@DryGermanGuy that is why I am skeptical.
I think that should depend on where they are on the spectrum and RFK jr is a dickhead
I read what the asker said m. I never said that RFK jr said that, I just said what my opinion on the statement is
I called him a dickhead because he is a dickhead
I think the brain worm starved to death
Then I'd be exempt. So, sure.
Yes I do.
What did he actually say?
T think he mispronounced "all" but otherwise agree
Yes, I believe so.
Yeah sure.
1 in 31 children has it, its a epidemic
Didn’t say that
