Can all people find happiness, and how?

Can all people find happiness, and how?

Your answer is in the below story
**A Short Story: "This Too Shall Pass"**
Once upon a time, in a quiet village nestled between rolling hills, lived a wise old man named Arjun. People from far and wide came to him for advice, for he always knew the right thing to say.
One summer, the crops failed, and the village was gripped by drought. People panicked—there wasn’t enough food or water, and fear began to grow like a weed. They rushed to Arjun and cried, “We are doomed! What are we to do?”
Arjun listened, then calmly handed them a small scroll with four simple words: **“This too shall pass.”**
Time went on. The rains returned, the fields flourished, and the village prospered again. People were joyful. Music filled the air. Celebrations lit up the nights.
One of the young villagers, now confident and full of pride, returned to Arjun and said, “You were wrong to worry us before. Look how great things are now!”
Arjun smiled, handed him the same scroll, and said again: **“This too shall pass.”**
The young man paused. He finally understood. Joy, like sorrow, was not forever. Change was the only constant.
And from that day on, whenever life felt too heavy or too perfect, the villagers would open the old scroll, take a deep breath, and remind themselves:
**This too shall pass.**
Yes I think the key isn't in material things. You don't find happiness in outcomes. Sure it might feel good to achieve a goal. Or buy a new car. but true happiness comes from having a job you go to every day and enjoy working. Happiness comes from being so overtaken by joy you find yourself dancing around the room. Dancing is the perfect example... the purpose to dance isn't to move across the floor from one place to another... it's to move in a way you express emotions... happiness is possible for anyone that looks for it in the right place. For I believe we find happiness in doing, not in outcomes.
All I see more recently people fighting over politics. I quit politics years ago.
I was at the grocery store a few months ago. Two individual started a normal conversation and they hit it off you would actually think wow these two will become good close friends I mean they had so much in common, Once one spoke about Trump and they other one spoke about Kamala. Boy they started attacking each other yelling and calling each other names. Not healthy at all. Sad that two individuals could have become good friends hang out but of course politics was a reason and then hate each other. I remember that old statements if you want peaceful environment never talk about religion or politics. Yes I know sad. I did actually they were becoming friends. But oh well it is what it is.
I think it is when you think about it like this- Everyone's situation is different and so everybody's form of happiness is different.
A homeless person for example might be happy with finding shelter even if it's not permanent.
A woman who has pcos, might be happy finding out she is able to have at least one child even if she is much older and the pregnancy could be risky.
A well to do family might be happy finding out that they can adopt a child who comes from a struggling background.
The examples are endless. Happiness looks different for every person but it can be obtainable for every person.

I met a man who is perpetually angry and helpless.
He's been like that since he was a pre-teen and, now, he's approaching forty.
He's suicidal and has failing health.
I don't see any hope for him especially since he's not searching for it.
The world is a complicated, unpredictable, unfair and random place. There are no certainties of anything in life except death at the end of it and even then you never know when it's coming. There are plenty of people who strive for happiness and will never find it because the world just didn't work out that way for them even though they tried.
No, it can't be all of us.
There are babies and kids suffering and dying as we speak. I'm not going to be the one explaining to their parents that happiness is possible for everyone.
Which seems like a reasonable view about life
Happiness is indeed possible for everyone, and you have to make the conscious decision to find it. It won’t come to you naturally, you gotta go looking for it.
this is one of those things where everyone can yeah but not everyone will. possible but not probable
And then there are those who derive their happiness from the suffering of others so... yeah
hey thanks. you too!
Probably not, but we can aim for not being starving or killed looking for food for a start.
A lot of people won't let themselves. Hence the meme of choose a happy woman because a lot of unhappy women think you should make them happy and you can't overcome their inbuilt unhappiness.
I believe almost everyone can find happiness for at least moments in a day or a week etc.
That said I am sure it's extremely difficult for some people depending on extreme circumstances.
My mom tells me happiness is a choice, and then she yells at me. I got no idea.
Psychologist will tell you that there are folks who revel in their unhappiness and are "Malcontents".
There is no way to happiness, happiness is the way.
👍🙂
@laly520 totally not.
otherwise criminals would be more dangerous
This is a very interesting question. I really like it. And my (short) answer is that yes, since happiness is subjective.
Happiness is indeed possible for everyone, and you have to make the conscious decision to find it. It won’t come to you naturally, you gotta go looking for it.
Yes, it is possible
You will look for happiness in yourself, you will look for it next to you, not far away
Happiness is a temporary thing. You can't be happy all day every day
Everyone can find it, but not everyone can be happy at the same time.
Happiness is an internal emotion so it is already in you. You have to learn how to release it.
Happiness like that content exhilarating feeling or do you want to laugh
Well. Everyone can eat a weed cookie.
Happiness is a choice.
Maybe it's possible under certain conditions.
No. It's folly.
No. For a start we aren't all looking for it.
Sure unless you’re in jail for something
Yes, if it's planned & managed!
