Well some Americans aren't doing that anymore and it's been banned on European countries such as Finland, Norway, Austria, Denmark, Germany, Spain, and many others across the continent.
Now they also banned it on some Latin American countries such as Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Costa Rica, Honduras, Nicaragua, Paraguay, Peru, Uruguay, and Venezuela.
Is it surprising that several hispanics and Latinos have now shifted away from that practice.

It was about time. Psychologists took too long to discover the obvious; that hitting children affects them.
How is assault little kids with household objects still referred to as ''discipline'' by others? I don't understand at all.
Great... so socialism is gonna fuck even more of the world. Smh
Psychologists and child advocates are definitely more involved than the past decades; hence the recently bannings in Latin American countries. Their mission is to definitely eradicate that spanking practice.
Though it's hard to completely eradicate it because they would have to burn and remove the root so by applying those bans, it's like chopping down leaf by left and then slowly cutting down the twigs, branches and finally the truck before one day they get to the root.
The root cause... lack of discipline, consequences and religion. There, saved you thousands of reais.
With all due respect, what if the child came from a household that did applied some religious values, consequences and there was corporal punishment ''disguished under the word discipline'' but the kid never liked it, never thanked you (and never will) for the spankings? Plus, the kid is now an adult, a parent and fully anti-spanking and wants nothing to do with religion either, has been an atheist for decades. So in your idea what happened there?
@Vesuvius87
That child hasn't become an adult yet
What is your definition of an adult? What must they do to become adults?
That child is now a married woman (her husband is also an atheist and also against spanking) with a baby boy.. that contributes to household bills. That's adult to me.
@Vesuvius87
I believe a person becomes an adult when they are able to forgive their parents for things a child couldn't understand.
Forgiving is different than forgetting or glorifying things. It's actually becoming more common for people wanting to raise their child differently than exactly the same as you were raised.
@Vesuvius87
You're a walking contradiction
@ariesman81 please explain how spanking is going to CURE a child from thing's they keep not understanding? Because clearly just even the threat of it does not stop the behavior from children. Authority cannot even get grown men to stop harming animals and females.
@CherryLove007
Correct... threats without action are useless and lead to more misbehavior.
The universal behavior corrector... pain
Not at all. Why wouldn't they?
