What do you think of people inheriting their parent’s house instead of buying their own?

I wonder what people think of that. Do they secretly criticize them and call them bums or losers. etc? Or…. are they really jealous and envious and/or are happy for them?

What do you think of people who inherited their home?

Inheriting a home or other wealth from family does not in any way indicate that the beneficiary of the inheritance lacks industrious character. It is merely their good fortune to benefit from the hard work of their ancestors.

I just think they're lucky. Some parents pay for their kid's college tuitions, use their decades built connections to help their kids find good jobs, teach their kids to drive, support their kids well into their 20s. Leave the house on their kid's name on the will. Meanwhile there are other kids who are kicked out at 18 and left on their own with no support. Some parents just are lazy and uncaring. It's a million times harder to succeed without support in this world.

Why would I criticise them? I have no problem with people inheriting properties or wealth as long as they don't go to other people who didn't have the luck and tell them to work harder or brag like it's all their doing.

I made fun of my brother who ran the place into the ground and lost most of his share. Who knew a paid off house is still expensive and you need a job and he didn't listen.
