Liberals/Left-wingers, why do you think conservatives believe the way they do?

If you are ideologically on the left, why do you think conservatives and those on the ideological right believe the way they do? And more importantly, what makes you so certain of it?

Political belief is largely tied to where you live. If you're immersed in a culture that leans right you'll tend to follow suit. We all live in our little bubbles.

What mostly ties us to our beliefs is fear. The left fear being discriminated against or exploited while the right fear certain people will change their way of life. It's the local history, dating back generations that makes you left or right.

I'm pretty convinced they just gobble up the media they're exposed to. Let me explain my position on this.

Take this Lindsey Clancy case or the Cornell 7... Without taking sides, you'll see two very different camps on both subjects. One seems fueld by main stream cable television and TikTok while the other is fact gathering instead of just "picking up" their opinions.

Now when it comes to this left/right divide... I don't really have to make a case of which is which. We all know. It's fucking obvious to anyone with two eyes and two ears.

They hold onto ideals that largely don't exist, and clutch onto people that would have fucking hated them back then.

For example, you think Jesus would even look at most White American Christians today? He would have scoffed at them.

Well, it would depend on what specifically he'd be scoffing at. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure there are some things he'd shake his head at, but I doubt they're things we'd probably agree on. And I say this as someone who has read through the Bible three times (and plans to do so again) and the Gospels alone multiple times, and also a formally consecrated catechist.

Post a list of four or five things conservatives would want, and four or five things liberals would want. Let them go down the line and vote on them. As a matter of fact, don't explain to anyone if they are conservative or liberal ideas.

To be honest, I think both far left or far right are pretty much brainshashed. I have met people who are very adamant about their affiliations on each side but when it comes to talk one on one both seem to be quite respectful and non conflictive or aggressive.
It is when crowds start coming that you get these conflicts or violent demonstrations.
I still believe that the reason some waves make the news is due to people who gather to start and cause trouble and to somehow do what they can to make their “party” look stronger or most plausible…. But in realists both sides want and care for the same needs that both parties relate to.

This is at least the way the conservatives are that I personally know, but they don’t think, they just vote. Aside from 1 to 3 things they can’t name any conservative policy, or liberal policy for that matter.

They vote out of fear of what the right is claiming about the left. In fact if you actually ask them specific questions they tend to lean more left than right, but they just don’t know it.

Now I know there are exceptions to this but this is what I find in the area that I live.

Conservatives are stupid and living in fear. Fear of change, fear of other people, fear of other ideas. They basically want someone else to do their thinking for them and they want simple solutions imposed by force. They never want to have any intellectual dialogue. They've been trained to simply believe via their religion. Belief is reality for a Conservative brain.

I'm"European leftish" - I see 'conservative' people as tied in their insecurities and anxieties. It's their right, and I listen when they speak. Unless it's extreme b/s.
It comes from " conserving" - a tendency to remain in the known comforts instead of absorbing adapting and evolving.
Why am I 'certain'? - I am not. Because that would mean that I'm "right" 😁

Their actions are the expressions of their beliefs. Once they've acted, that's all the certainty you need to validate what they believe in and I see their actions as harmful and dangerous about 99% of the time. WHY they think as they do is not a topic I'd choose to address here.
