No when I was growing up being a roofer was a good job and a way to have a good standard of living. Now there are all illegals that do those jobs.

I've been on many construction sites in the US and most didn't have any English speaking tradesmen. Illegal immigrants filled a void when Americans stopped entering the trades. Now that the illegals are leaving, wages for skilled trades are going through the roof causing new construction, renovations and house maintenance costs to skyrocket. I'm a partner in a construction company and our wages have more than doubled in the last 5 years. We used to hire journeymen carpenters at $30 an hour 5 years ago and now they start at $70. Illegals kept housing costs down.

I had to walk my kid to school and that's where we'd walk by everyday. They racially segeragate themselves out there in that parking lot. American whites and some blacks in one section, all the south of the border types in another group (the largest group) and then the African blacks next to the light poles... and I have no idea who hires them.

I think what it comes down to for who hires these people... legality and price. The illegals are obviously illegal, but they're cheaper. The American whites and blacks... legal, but can be pricy... probably a better job done though. The African blacks... I have no fucking clue who might hire those people.
