I get that a lot of people are hurt in America from people being assholes but the young men in America have been brainwashed so bad to the point that a lot of them don't give a fuck about anyone but themselves (not even good people close to them) For example, I get if you don't give a fuck about people that treat you like shit BUT GOOD family members, friends, and romantic partners? Something is wrong with you. You have been hurt but becoming a robot to people that haven't done shit to you is bad.

I do think parts of the manosphere have contributed to a very unhealthy mindset among some young men, especially with how much influence online content has had since COVID. There is nothing wrong with teaching men to have boundaries, recognize mistreatment, or stop allowing people to take advantage of them. The problem begins when self-respect gets twisted into selfishness, emotional detachment, and treating every relationship like a competition.

I understand that some men have been genuinely hurt, disappointed, or mistreated. But why should a good family member, loyal friend, or loving partner have to suffer because someone else hurt you? Those people haven't done anything to deserve your resentment. Protecting yourself from people who mistreat you is one thing. Becoming cold toward everyone, including people who genuinely care about you, is something else entirely.

I also think some of these online spaces make emotional vulnerability look like weakness and encourage young men to view kindness as something that makes them easy to exploit. That's a damaging way to approach life. You can be strong without being cruel, have boundaries without becoming heartless, and protect yourself without punishing innocent people for someone else's actions. Being hurt should not become an excuse to hurt people who have done nothing to you.

For example I talked to this young guy (my coworker) he must be like 26 and I'm 35. I told him how I had a friend that sucked at communication eventually after he moved to another state and how I had to initiate most of the time. This guy and I were like brothers. And my coworker responded "he is not obligated to respond back or initiate contact with you." I was like if he cares he would initiate contact more on than urgent things, birthdays, or when he needs favors. He than said"he is not your girl, what if he is busy, listen man you don't need anybody." He is talking like a manosphere guy. I clearly told him this guy had a close friendship relationship with me and he did not give a fuck. I told it doesn't have to be every week at least a couple of times a year initiate contact. Do you think he is a manosphere guy?

Like I'm saying for my ex friend to respond months later or me having to initiate most of the time and yet this guy (my coworker still said that). No matter how busy someone is they can make time at least couple of times a year to hit up first.

It just strikes me as a symptom of a greater problem.

A lot of younger people today just don't expect or believe in a good future for themselves.

I agree it is toxic and negative but of we busy ourselves seeing just the symptom we will miss out on the real solutions. Which is basically ensuring that people believe the future is bright for them.
