Boyfriend flirted and danced with another girl when drunk. Should I forget it?

I'd been with my boyfriend for 2 years, lived together and talked about getting engaged (we are now engaged since then) there were no problems in our relationship and we were blissfully happy although he was seriously stressed with work. He is like a dad to my 5 year old son and generally responsible. One night I stayed at my mums and he went for a drink after work with a mutual friend of ours. The next day at around 10 am he was still a bit drunk and I found out he'd been out til 4am and stayed at his mates. I got suspicious and ashamedly checked his emails, when I did I saw references to the drunken night. My boyfriend said things like "what were we like, a couple of 18 year olds on the pull" and they talked about the night, he then said something that startled me, he said" where did those girls appear from" and his mate couldn't remember, and my Boyfriend said "I'm glad I didn't do anything too stupid like end up in a hotel room, I would be racked with guilt". His mate said "you did nothing wrong and were a good boy that's all that matters".

When I confronted him he denied it all, then piece by piece he admitted he was so drunk he couldn't remember much but there were 4 of his mates and 2 girls, he danced with one of them, but he was dancing with everyone, including his mates and thought nothing of what he does, said he was a drunken idiot, but would never have cheated. I nearly broke up with him over this because I couldn't believe he would put himself in that situation. I knew he hadn't cheated but I was worried that he would have possibly...

I got over it and believed everything he said, and since then we got engaged but I can't help think back and wonder if I am with the right person. He has never ever put another foot wrong like that and hasn't been out much since. He was devastated by how upset I was. I just want some advice form outsiders, so that I can move on. Any opinions would be appreciated. Thanks

How annoying! I believe in 3 strikes your out, UNLESS your married then the strikes kind of add up,like 1000 strikes your out, Ha Ha.. It sounds like all he did was dancing, altough I bet as you were reading your stomach kept turning and your heart couldve pumoed so hard it might as well have fallen out of your bum! BUT all he did was dancing. It kind of put a red flag up when he denied all of it at first... ANYWAY he didn't cheat, and he very well couldve and said "i was so drunk I'm so sorry" but he was smart enough to keep faithful.. take that memory, put it in a filing cabinet in your memory and lock it away, tell your heart to forgive.
