So I've had a new male boss for about a month, and to be honest I don't like him. He's very arrogant and full of himself. I won't bore you with all the details of the things he's done.
Anyway, an opportunity came up for a promotion and I decided to apply for it because I do have the relevant experience.
The interview went fairly well, however yesterday I received a ohone call from my boss telling me that I was unsuccessful.
During the course of the phone call, he actually stated among other things, "I hope you're disappointed, because that means you really wanted the job." Like I said, this guy is a jerk.
Anyway, he says he wants to have another meeting about my interview the next time I see him in person (in case I didn't understand the first rejection call I guess.).
Any advice on how to handle or interact with him so he can't lord it over me excessively? I'm not pissed that I didn't get the job, moreso of the insensitve remarks.
