Why do iPhone users tend to look down on Android users?

I extensively follow mobile phones. I know that iOS tops at times and so does Android. But my liking tends to lean towards Android. A lot of people I meet or even friends who bought iphones often tend to hold me in contempt when that see me using an Android. I honestly like both but spending over 70000 rupees on a phone is too much for me. I'm happy with my 15000 worth phone and it works perfectly for me. But somehow thesevpeople are on mission to make me hate Android. I mean what's going on in their head. Why can't they just accept that both are great in their own ways?

Then you have andoid users, who look down at anything iOS related. Same thing, sides reversed.

I own an iPhone and don't do that. (I've got peers and blood-relatives with Android phones.)

I see iOS as superior due to its apparently greater security features, but accept that not everyone is willing/able to spend the same amount of money, though the trade-off does involve paying with privacy to Google, instead. If that's their most optimal option given their own criteria for decision-making, that's their decision. So long as they don't hate on me for owning an iOS device, I have no reason for hostility.

I'm not sure, but I guess you know some people who think a fancy phone makes them look rich, and are insecure about how rich people perceive them to be.

I have an iPhone x, I don't care or -notice- what phone people have, and never assume anything about their wealth based on phone. High end Samsung/apple phones aren't that different in price here, and in both cases, the actual cell plan tends to cost more thanks to are stupidly high cell phone costs. I use our shittiest carrier to save money and tell everyone about it with pride, lol.

*shrugs* A big part of being an "advanced apple user" is brand worship in my opinion. Putting aside the specs and features the very fact that its an apple product somehow makes it more valuable. Also this on a country by country basis since most of the world prefers Android.

I dont. I'm just not a fan of Android. I was an avid blackberry person then I switched to an Iphone ever since. I have had a 4,4s,5,5s,6,6s,7,7 plus, and now Im getting an 8 and 8 plus. I mostly use the plus as cameras since I like taking photos of random things. I may go back to an android maybe in 2020, Im not sure.

I've seen that too. I try to reason that both are good. Personally I've met a few Android jerks who think of themselves too high but I've seen more concentration in iOS users

I have had the same experience. My guess is that the only ones I notice are those that really have those feelings and who want to send the vibe.

As a general statement I find that defining one's status in life on the choice of electronic tools as sad at best and even a bit creepy.
