Am I phone addicted if I use my phone 8 hours?

My father doesn't stop telling me I'm addicted and I believe there are people who use it for longer, but they only care for the time I use it, which makes sense, but I'm not sure. I still do everything both my parents ask me to do and some days do an activity that yes includes my phone but only to play music...

If you're using it that much for social media, games, YouTube, and so forth, eight hours a day is entirely too much.

If you're using it for music or listening to podcasts, that's... fine, I guess. But even then, eight hours is still a lot. You really should spend less time on your phone and interact with other people and just spend some time in silence.

That’s difficult. I work off my phone and lap top. I often have at least two things happening simultaneously…like two is standard. I’m 11/12 time zones often… 16 hours days often and 70 hours week on phone and laptop. It’s all real-time I guess.

Using your phone this much is very irritating to others who live with you or who are trying to be social with you. Like your father. Stop it - nothing on your phone is more important than your relationship with him.

If you are just doing games and social media or talking, yes.
If you are reading books and news or learning skills, no.
