Why do so many people hate the IT tech?

I worked as a paper bitch... writing and shit... Because of that I ended up knowing how to fix a computer in a general matter. Thus I get called on for help. And this is why I identify with the mother fuckers that get called to figure out a problem that you could easily fix if you just tried to figure it out yourself.

I do not, no. They are working in a field that's in high demand, and I don't take it personal if they're rude to me because I'm problem #163 in their inbox.

I worked with some self-described geeks while I was doing armed security at a banking data center. They were chill, if not a little odd.

I don't hate them. I've found a few of them frustrating (as I'm sure some IT techs find with us mere mortal users). I am often at war with "data dinks" but it's an affectionate and good spirited one.

They hate the tech on the phone, - not the sector.

As an IT director for a large company I see people practically offering their ass for raw anal, when it comes to good tech support. But they will get pissy if the tech is too bitchy.

Having good manners is very different from having good IT skills.
