Tesla used to be my dream car, but that changed due to a few major issues for me personally.
First, I actually sat in one. They are very uncomfortable! I could never pay that much for something that feels that awful to sit in. Maybach and Maserati all the way right now unless I sit in one of those and they feel as bad. I love the Tesla aesthetic though.
Second, when they got really popular reports came out about them cutting way too many corners in production. They were duct taping and using broken parts and blaming owners when it was later discovered.
Third, I'm not paying any subscriptions for a vehicle I'm supposed to own and paid six figures for. Car insurance is enough of a scam.
Last, the practicality of charging them. I don't know of any cost effective, practical, AND environmentally friendly ways to charge one. Solar panels have limited life spans, are expensive, and I live in an area where we get a lot of snow. Wind turbines kill bats and birds. Sometimes solar panels do too. Etc. Charging it as home would be a pain.
I still think they have a very sexy exterior design.
The leases of my company fleets are nearly over.
Although my employees enjoy driving the Tesla 3s provided to them, they're learning bad commuting habits and diminishing real driving skills.
Especially the young employees, I want them to understand gears and shifting and not just drive like they're driving a golf cart or bump car.
So, I will be replacing the Tesla 3s with "conventional" gasoline- or diesel-powered vehicles.
The fleets will have wider selections of cars, trucks, vans & SUVs.
Furthermore, I consider the long charging periods to be a waste of time.
Instead of being productive while waiting, they're watching shows or playing games.
Meanwhile, I will keep the Tesla S models for my deserving employees.
Also, the abundant charging stations throughout various locations will be opened up for public access that will generate a lot of money for me.
For all the hate Elon gets from the left, I can't think of anything he'd be doing differently if he just thought selling EVs to right wingers was the only way to address climate change.
That said, I only by union made so I won't be getting one.
If Facebook made cars...

I like that Tesla has spurred other electric manufacturers to up their game, & push forward the technology.
That said, the more I find out about that fucking weirdo Elon, the more I hate him & the more I have a negative opinion of Tesla in general.
test drove. it's a no... for various reasons. The Model Y was so space age I couldn't stand driving it... digital turn signals and such... blech. the bluetooth was a non starter for me.
I hope there's an e car out there I would like. For now, I think hybrid is the way to go.
and it should have Toyota stamped on it.
- Range specs are a lie
- quality isn't great, interior feels really cheap
- buy price is too high
- maintenance is costly
- in EU there is no exclusive Tesla charging infrastructure like in some US States.
Hybrid Toyota outperforms Tesla in most aspects. Tesla has good acceleration but this isn't something special for an electric vehicle.
I see a lot of them around in my town, over the last 2 years the richer families have been getting them. I think they look really ugly, the way that the cars are shaped. And I think that it’s stupid to have them (in my town) because we’re a small town, barely anyone has switched to electric cars, and therefore there’s only ONE charging station in town.
The vast majority of Tesla (and other EV) owners have no need to public charge unless they live in an apartment. People with their own homes generally charge their cars at home, and the cars have more than adequate range for 99% of their driving. Public charging is really only for people taking long trips, people who live in apartments and can't charge at home (in which case, an EV probably isn't the best choice), or people who are driving for Uber/Lyft, which is generally a bad idea anyway.
Again, the vast majority of EV owners will almost never need to use public charging.
I see! Thank you for explaining. That makes a lot of sense now as to why there’s only one charging station in town.
Almost everyone in Shanghai has them. They are okay, nothing special.
They’re cool, the high end ones are STUPID fast, but at this point EVs still are a long way for me to wanna buy one
There pretty cool, I was thinking about getting one but then I changed my mind
The second last choice.
At this time I prefer FCEV's.
I would never own any type of electric vehicle
Cheap interiors.
