Thank you!
My son is looking for a new computer that has Windows 10 and 11. Is there such a computer? What do you recommend? Is there a laptop he can buy?
Thank you!
You can buy a laptop with Win 11, then purchase a copy of Win 10 and install it alongside Win 11. You can set it to boot up from either OS.
It is rather pointless exercise though. Stick with just Win 11. Having both will achieve very little for all the grief in setting it up.
It would be better to dual boot a different OS with Win 11, such as Ubuntu. That OS, and most software, is free of charge.
I recommend HP for laptops, followed by Fuji (if you can find one).
there r many but it depends on what type of learning disability he got
generally windows 11 has accessibility options to help people with learning disabilities navigating through the system
u could always ask for specific laptop when buying
would be extremely difficult to buy a brand new computer that comes with Windows 10
so, just buy a brand new computer with Windows 11... and then have a technician to install a dual boot that has Windows 10... there's still a few cheap licenses out there, a technician would know how to get all this to work just right for him
Why would he want that? I had 10 for a while and didn't like it, it was too confusing and nothing is where it's suppose to be. Besides, it's a bit buggy! I switched back to 8.1. From what I've been hearing from a number of people, 11 is REALLY bad so, I wouldn't even bother with that!!
@FunkyMonkee
Almost everyone here said to get 11, and now you say it's bad.
Then what should he get?
All I'm saying is, I was thinking of getting 11 until I saw a number of YT videos of people complaining about how terrible it is. 10 works alright but, like I said, if you're used to 7 or 8, it's very confusing and things are no longer where they used to be. I got tired of having to hunt for everything so, I went back to 8.1.
Hopefully they'll come out with a 12 soon that'll have fixed all the errors on 11.
I'd suggest he get 8.1 or 7 but, you can't get updates for those, anymore. However, this computer uses 8.1 and the laptop downstairs uses 7 Enterprise and they both still work great.

You want both operating systems? Why?
This is called multi-booting, or dual-booting. You will either need a custom built computer, or be good with computers and follow directions exactly. Look up "multiboot" in Windows Help on your computer.
If you (or your son) have no clue what I'm talking about below, you will either need to take it to a pro, or find very good step-by-step instructions, and follow them exactly.
You need to partition your drive. That's because you need a separate partition for each operating system. You can do this when you first install the OS. Or do it from "Disk Management" in Windows. Do NOT mess with Disk Management unless you know what you are doing.
Windows 10 and 11 is not a good combination for multibooting, unless you have a very specific reason for using those two. Usually you would pair a new OS with a much older one, like WIndows 7, XP, or even older. The reason is so you can run old software and games. Another good option is to pair Windows with Linux. Whatever OS you choose, make sure it will run on modern hardware. Those older operating systems won't support modern large drives and large amounts of memory.
The problem with doing this with a new computer is that most computers these days do not come with an OS installation disk. They have an image on the drive, which automatically installs the OS to factory default, which does not allow multiboot. I don't know if it's possible to do it without the install disk. Even if the computer comes with Windows, you might have to buy a separate installation disk.
Also keep in mind that with a new name-brand computer, this will almost certainly void the warranty. This is another reason to get a custom built computer. But there are not many places doing that any more.
@sage2021 , Windows 11 would be fine. I don't think you want both 10 and 11 on the same machine.
I have been happy with Dell computers but the model will depend on your budget.
So sorry to hear that. Here is where
I have shopped for laptops.
For my needs I have shopped for gaming laptops (XPS) with a good GPU and at least 32GB memory.

yes for example amazon can send you one with windows 11 inside
Having a computer with two operating systems requires more than one hard drive. That way you can specify which one to boot up with BIOS. Your best bet is to buy a desktop with Windows 11 and then buy Windows 10 and have someone install it for you that has experience with building computers.
You can dual boot having 2 operating systems. Just set aside space on a partition. And download an iso image of win10 to a bootable medium, like a USB stick. It is a process, but it shouldn't be too difficult once you understand. Another option is to consider virtual machines. It is less risky.
I suggest a Lenovo laptop. My SO and I each have one... very reliable, easy to use, and doesn't come with a lot of bloat software pre-loaded, unlike some other laptops.
Don't buy a Windows 10 computer anymore, it will expire next year. Get the 11 computer.
Windows 10 would be better but they are pretty similar.
@exitseven
I think he is under the impression that there is a computer that comes with both.
Can we buy one with windows 10 then buy the windows 11 and install it?
Will that override Windows 10?
Someone else answered Windows 10 would be better since he has learning disabilities. So, should we just get him a laptop with windows 10?
What makes and model do you suggest?
And where can we buy one?
Thank you!
@exitseven
Sorry, she said windows 11 Is better for the learning disabled.
Okay. It is possible to have both 10 an 11 but a tech would have to do it and you don't need it. After looking it seems that they all come with Windows 11. It us very similar to 10 . I use both and I set my personal machine to look like windows 10 so I never notice it. Look on the hp. com website. They often have sales. You can get a really nice laptop for a good price. I just bought two really nice high end workstations with top of the line graphics cards and a fast processor for about 500 bucks they only had two left and i bought them both. I am using my phone but later I will send you more info
