In the Blue Ridge/Great Smoky Mountains region of North Carolina on the Cherokee Indian Reservation lies a strange sight for North Carolina. A Casino resort that can rival Las Vegas, Reno or Atlantic City. This casino is pretty much mostly video slot machines, however there are traditional table games like Blackjack,roulette, Texas Hold Em, and Baccarat.

I decided to take the 2 hour drive to the casino to try my luck. Needless to say my experience was not disappointing, but rather intriguing. My journey began when I checked in at the desk to get my card to track my points to learn I earned $50 in free play for being a new player. The first slot I played was a 25 cent Wheel of Fortune machine. My favorite slot was the Wonder Woman machine where I won over 100.00 on the slot. I also tried my hand at roulette and blackjack. However, I really prefer the slots. Speaking of the slots there are hundreds of thousands of machines with different themes from Game of Thrones, Dolly Parton, Harley Davidson, Willy Wonka, Wizard of Oz all to name a few.

The casino attracts people from the neighboring states of Tennessee,Georgia, and South Carolina as well. There are several dining options like a buffet, Starbucks, Dunkin Donuts, Uno Pizzeria and others.

Overall its not Las Vegas, it doesn't have to be Its a charming little casino resort in the Smokies with access to Gatlinburg and Dollywood in the same day. Overall I rate it a B+ Its a great casino but don't expect Vegas style glitz and glamour.

Im always amazed by how well done most of these reservation casinos are. Down here we have the Seminole ones. I am more curious as to whether all of them are built/designed by the same company. Yes, they're no Vegas, but they always have the same theme.

That is pretty cool!!! I actually had a couple classes for college that talked about casinos and I visited one in Wisconsin recently. The buffet was one the main reasons me and my family liked to go :)

NC only has 2 both on the Cherokee reservation

Its actually kinda cool though like there isn't a Wal-Mart for like 20 miles but its the only place to get any kind of alcohol in town
