Reading all of this really made me upset. It just shows how the judicial system is nowadays. It sounds about right though (even though it's VERY wrong) nothing was done when I went to court.
Tre but I don't think he deserves to die either. He should be getting anywhere from 6-10 years for it though. Oh well, society is not as progressive as you would think.
Brock Turner was an introvert who was nervous whenever he was even near a girl. Yes he raped her. He would give anybody the heebie-jeebies if they were next to him he was spooky
Turner should be dragged back into court and his sentence increased to at least ten years, and the judge should be removed from his job as incapable of sound impartial judgement.
. even if you thing the 3 months was a short sentence, he will have to be a registered criminal for many many years, in some states for life. Not to mention all the media attention, that is quite a punishment he will receive that people take for granted
@diegoD The main point of a sentence in these cases is that it should not only punish the perpetrator, but act as a warning to others, to deter them for similar criminal acts. 3 months would not deter many guys from treating another person as just another piece to screw, including gay rape. The judge has a responsibility and duty to pass a deterrent sentence, it is the only way to stop these criminal acts against persons being treated by students as a game. If the victim is drunk and incapable of saying no the perpetrator has no right to violate their body, that is rape. They should have the safety of sleeping off there over indulgence in peace!
you did not read what I wrote. He will be a registered criminal and be on the databases for many years or possibly life! that will adversely affect his chances for employment and a lot of other things, and that will last a hell of a lot more than 3 months. people take that for granted, there were people protesting at his house. So his ordeal is far from over even if he is not in jail
@diegoD I did read what you wrote, and of course he will now be on the sex offenders list, but rapists don't think about that, they only see a three month sentence, which is an insult to the victim.
LOL calm down. It's not like this guy got off totally free at all. He's going to have to register as a sex offender for the rest of his life. Do you understand what that means?
I never said I agreed with the sentence, but you're making out like he's getting away with a crime. He's not. Any amount of time spent is prison is hard, even six months. And being a convicted felon and registered sex offender is a life sentence that will impede this guy's life forever.
My issue with people like you is that you try to put rape on a par with more serious crimes like murder, and that's just bs. Rape is really bad, but it's not equivalent in any way to murder. Yes, most victims struggle psychologically in the aftermath of rapes, but that's nothing compared to being killed or seriously injured in an assault.
Brock Turner isn't even going to prison, he's going to the country jail, which is hardly comparable to actual prison. He basically got a petty slap on the wrist.
I'm on your side on this. I just hope that he gets placed in general population in jail, where they don't like rapists either. Hopefully that 6 months turns into a life sentence.
I have a feeling that there is probably far more to the case than is being reported. The fact that the media seems to be promoting a certain narrative makes me very, very skeptical.
I look at the big picture, this was just one case when the sentence was short. But many other people get punished really harshly, I wander how come people don't protest when the y are given life sentences in some cases. So that's why I don't complain much about this case, because it was an exemption to the rule, because if you look at the big picture, this will push for tougher sentences, and believe me they are lengthy enough overall. There is already an over incarceration problem. Mandatory minimums are a disaster, the us imprisons more people per capita than any other country
FWIW... Rape is unacceptable and must always be prosecuted severely. That being said, we never hear the full story with these media stories. I can't judge because I don't know all the details.

Let's just wait and see how many people go "Oh, but it was his first offence!"
Face it, neckbeards, you don't get a prize for only raping one person in your life.
For once, i agree with you, miss vilaine

If that was all there is to the punishment , but all the headaches that come after the realease are a lot
LOL calm down. It's not like this guy got off totally free at all. He's going to have to register as a sex offender for the rest of his life. Do you understand what that means?
Lol that's like saying it's okay to just put your child on time out rather than actually punishing them if they hit another kid (to the put of injury)

Lol I'm not reading the rest of that once you said "Rape with more serious crimes like murder", so now I KNOW you're just joking.
Hhaaha okay, bye.
Brock Turner isn't even going to prison, he's going to the country jail, which is hardly comparable to actual prison. He basically got a petty slap on the wrist.
He's also going to be kept in protective custody, away from other inmates.
Rapists are not men. As a man i'm embarrassed that most rapists are men and real men will always stand by your side.
I'm on your side on this. I just hope that he gets placed in general population in jail, where they don't like rapists either. Hopefully that 6 months turns into a life sentence.
This is as bad as the guy who got raped, then punished for being a rape victim. Makes you sick.
I have a feeling that there is probably far more to the case than is being reported. The fact that the media seems to be promoting a certain narrative makes me very, very skeptical.
There definitely is.
It's pretty messed up especially if you read the testimonies.
The only people who are NOT outraged by this case, are the hardcore misogynists.

what if she consented before they had sex and they were both pissed drunk? if thats the case 6 months seems like 6 months too long
As soon as you are unconscious, your prior consent no longer stands.
It's not even 6 real months. It's only the county lockup and not even the state prison. He'll most likely be out in 3 if he behaves himself.
I hate this, too. The family is trying to portray him as a victim and saying it's her fault for being drunk
The rich get away with murder... There's no escaping this fact.
like hillary clinton
Death is too extreme, I say 25 to life.
I do not really care. Just worrying about my life
