So I JUST heard about this. this video was posted on youtube last Thursday.

So this woman Natasha Aponte together with a director Rob Bliss both concocted this plan to go onto tinder and dupe hundreds of guys into dating her. It lasted for TWO YEARS before meeting at Union square in new york where Aponte blindsided all the men she duped by saying it was just a ruse to prove a point about how bad tinder is...

If you click on the actual youtube page you can see that all comments and ratings have been disabled because they knew they would receive tons of backlash for it.


"My main goal was public humiliation, to showcase the obsessive nature men have (as is evident by the fact that lots of them stuck around after the ruse had been revealed.) I feel like this goal was achieved." Aponte says, "This was something I had been thinking of doing for a long time ever since my ex-boyfriend 'Jimmy' who has cheated on me a couple of years ago, and at last I was finally there. The humiliation factor of it for the men was a great feeling, and I felt very desirable."

That's messed up. She did this because the fool she had been with cheated on her? (And not all men are like that). She's just as horrid as the men on here who laugh when a woman is rejected by a man.

I get what she was trying to do---but I am willing to bet that a lot of those guys were good honest men (aside from the fools who were cheating) who weren't overly-critical so her experiment did nothing essentially. She didn't target THOSE men specifically. That's what she should have done.

It's sad and I feel sorry for all those men (except the sleazes who were willing to cheat).

She had a good thought---call out the overly-critical people and humiliate them. I'm guessing that's what her ex may have done. The issue was that she didn't simply target those guys who said that they only wanted a woman that was X, Y, and Z. She targeted a lot of innocent men and humiliated them. So she looks horrendous and didn't achieve what she set out to do at all.

I didn't say her motives were decent and I'm not assuming it. She originally planned to humiliate overly-critical men and said so. Humiliating people isn't ever a good thing (though I consider it a taste of some people's medicine). But how she executed it was completely wrong.

@AuroraRoseat Fair enough, I jumped to conclusions. But I do have to ask whether a person who is overly critical of other people is worse or even equal to a person who wants to publicly humiliate and hurt people.

And whether this is justified considering, based on my experiences on Tinder, women do exactly the same thing. "Must be over 6' tall.' That's fine, but you can't criticize men for listing requirements as well. That's blatant hypocrisy.

It would be subjective. Personally, I don't see it as any worse because you're targeting those people who are unfairly critical of others to get them to see understand how the other people feel (who have un/intentionally hurt others). But again, it's up to the individual person.

Based on the aforementioned, I'm sure you can assume that it's unfair for anyone to be overly critical, man or woman.

@AuroraRoseat Yes, but these men aren't video taping women and putting them on Youtube and pointing out all their flaws. One is public judgement one is private judgement. One is general, one is an attack aimed at a specific set of people.

Yes, people shouldn't be overcritical though people are allowed to have standards. Honestly it seems fairly cut and dry to me. Woman is angry guy cheats on her. She stews about it for the next two years and vows to seek revenge on men as a whole, who she clearly doesn't differentiate from her ex boyfriend.

Again, I've said that I didn't like what she did. Her original thought was good but it was corrupted due to what she suffered. If she had targeted simply those guys with those profiles, then it would have made sense.

No. Public shaming just because someone hurt you is not what I agree with. This girl had the right idea but the wrong execution due to her bias. If she had simply targeted those men who were overly-critical to prove 1) how (subjectively) wrong it is to be that way and 2) the obssesive nature of some of these men to be "the best", I think it would have come out quite interesting.

Exactly what she had done with the exception of swiping right onto thousands of men's pages which caused a lot of innocent men to suffer. She should have searched specifically for men that wanted women that were a particular race, weight size, breast size, height, etc.

The problem is the main reason that she chose to pursue this is because she was hurt for being overly-critcized (I'm assuming) which I feel led her to swipe right on innocent men. THAT is wrong. She brought her bias into it and hurt good men.

OK, I have heard about this story, even posted about this here.
Here are a couple of things.

First, she's a looney. A sociopath, an evil person. Something's seriously messed up in her head. And this Rob Bliss guy is just adding fuel to the fire. I bet he's the kind of guy who only had female friends in school, and started saying "all men are XYZ" in a rather early age.
What can I say? Birds of a feather...

Secondly, they tried to portray this as a social experiment or something, but the way it was conducted made it pretty obvious this was about humiliating men. But I never would have guessed she's enough of a dumbass to ACTUALLY admit it.
On some level I wish this video become viral, so that people can see these two people being horrible.

Thirdly, she makes this about men, but let's not pretend women don't have utterly unrealistic expectations.
Which brings me to my fourth point:
Imagine what an outrage it would be if it was a mildly attractive guy who tricked hundreds of women. The crowd would be yelling at him, and calling him names - that guy would be torn apart.
Oh wait, that would never happen - because there is no way a regular guy could get that many matches on Tinder. So... who has the unrealistic expectations now?

I honestly only wish the names ROB BLISS and NATASHA APONTE burn into enough people's consciousness to ruin the career of these two assholes.

A few things to say about this.

1: Telling people that we should focus less on appearances and more on what's on the inside I a noble thing that is not new and has been suggested before, quite often in fact.

2: This is not to say that people don't have preferences and that those preferences are wrong. Nor am I ignoring the fact that sadly, looks do matter to some extent.

3: Its fucking Tinder, lady... What did you expect? eHarmony? Its primarily sluts and fuckboys.

4: What was the point of this though? I understand what the message was but what about specifically was she expecting from this? What was the rational behind this? What did it prove?

5: You say none of these things matter yet you go on a date with the tall muscular guy who won all the challenges. Challenges which she mocks. So she's mocking him.

6: Women do this too, which you proved by being a woman and by reading a comment made by a woman seeking a man in the beginning of the video. But, the value and market demand for women is much higher than it is the other way around. Women also tend to cheat on men when they find someone "better" suited to their needs.

7: Why not date the guy you were with on the couch helping you in this video? Or is he gay or something?
