The only thing different about the dolls is the title. When I watch my niece and nephew, my niece only has girl dolls. But to even it out, we will call some of her girl dolls boys, depending on what crazy plot she has for that day. She’s also called her dolls weird alien genders as well. It’s adorable actually.
What I’m saying is, I feel like kids imaginations will take over, and they will be able to give identity while preserving the original identity, so that they can distinguish between whatever identity the doll originally was and what identity they are giving it. Now, these dolls, to me, aren’t going to change much. Yes, kids should know about the binary genders (male and female) to avoid running into things kids shouldn’t run into when they are so little and have a wild imagination ( I. e. anything sexual.) actually I feel that is EXTREMELY important. I stand by that notion. It’s instinctive for someone to identify the other based on gender. But overall, these dolls will just heighten their imagination more, if they have the basis on “there are two genders” because it can then teach them no bias, really. But also keep them well informed. +1 yI'm honestly really fucking tired of constantly hearing about gender deconstructionist nonsense all the time. The human brain is complex snd difficult to understand, we get it. But stop rubbing it in our faces. Why can't men just be men and women be women? Not everything has to be a lesson on gender roles/expression.

I find this utterly necessary. Children don't know what gender is. We teach them. I don't think kids at doll playing age could care less. Might actually be more confusing than helpful. If I want to play family, which one's the man and which the woman. Even if the child knew you could have two men or two women, they still can't tell WHICH is the man. This doesn't teach anything about LGBTQ, or being straight. I really don't see the point. Unless there is a completely gender less group this is representing maybe? Also why are we teaching doll playing children about sexuality? WHY? I think it's creepy to talk to a 3 year old about sex. Regardless of what kind of sex
75 Reply- +1 y
Please, don't treat kid as stupid. If they want to play family, the would take a doll, a plush, a rock or whatever and would say "this is the father" and then they would take a doll, a plush, a rock or whatever and would say "this is the mother". Kids has a special superpower to decide objects and toys gender by themselves. This toy is just another toy, it doesn't really have any capacity to confuse at all.
- +1 y
@AlienParasite Yes they can pretend a rock is a male doll or a female doll or whatever but in this case, you're giving them an actual doll and asking them to pretend. Why not just buy actual gender toys? Then not dictate how they use them? I'm not saying this is good or bad just that it's useless in it's target demographic. Like I said, if I had a three year and someone was talking to them about sex or sexuality, I would hella mad. That's way creepy
- +1 y
I just watched the video. I would have liked one of these as a child. Not because they're gender neutral which I really couldn't give two shits about but because they are so customisable. They are like a build your own Barbie. Which is exactly what I would have done... built multiple Barbie's and kens. Also they don't look gender neutral, they look like children. Which once dressed up, become a gender. The skirts, dresses and wigs obviously work for girls and the other stuff for boys. As a sexuality statement I say it's a fail but as a toy, it might not be half bad.
- +1 y
Well, I gotta say my three or four year old, who I still took baths with at the time started asking me where my penis was and grabbing at my breasts. I explained I was a girl and didn't have a penis. That answer satisfied him and I decided it was time to stop taking baths with him because I didn't want to be grabbed at and I didn't want to confuse him. So kids learn about differences and sexuality early. They play doctor, don't they?
Get woke, go broke. have fun selling it to the 0.0001% gender neutral people that make up earth's population.

+1 yAs a wise man once said, "Don't go changing anything from previous generations without a VERY good reason."
Many good reasons have been presented. Certain feminist movements made much progress, as well as all anti-racism. Medicines have been developed, theories established, and utility worldwide has improved dramatically.
That being said, it can be taken too far. Throughout history, patterns have been established, sometimes considered "old-fashioned." Only a few are dismissed with good reason.
The majority of our culture is based around a trial-and-error program tested and proven over the course of thousands of years. Whatever your thoughts on God and religion, it cannot be dismissed that the Bible has had a profound cultural impact for centuries, even millennia. It would be dismissed easily and quickly from society if the teachings in it were completely flawed, worthless, or dismiss-able.
Gender stereotypes, while not wholly comprehensive, are both voluntary and beneficial. Toxic stereotypes result when someone who can very clearly see and define benefits with little or no cost to the things that are important to them, and ignore it in favor of hatred or apathy.
The recent movement to remove stereotypes is (along with many other things) associated with rising levels of mental illness. It would be foolish to assume a causal relationship, but it would also be idiotic to presume that more illness is merely being reported.
They have descended beneath the social expectations in spite of recent scientific findings, as well as many forms of empirical and Platonic reasoning, for the purpose of attention, advertisement, and capitalistic benefit. They are not immoral, but we as consumers should investigate our beliefs and what messages we intend to send to future generations.
The destruction of the fundamental unit of the family? Devastating, with nothing like it seen before, and not it a good way.10 Reply

Why can't kid toys just be toys? Why do liberals have to force LGBTQ behavior down everyone's throat? Why do they have to force everyone to accept and like the LGBTQ community? Why can't they just accept the fact that they can't force everyone on this planet to like them, agree to their way of life, or not discriminate against them? Men, women, every religion, and every race on the face of earth has been discriminated against in some shape or form. So what makes the LGBTQ entitled to shoving their way of down people's esophagus?🤔
How difficult is it to understand that you cannot force acceptance? Just like racism, religious prejudice and so on it takes time. Back in the day people didn't need to announce that they were gay or trans. They just lived their lives in silence just like everyone else. Why can't it still be like that?50 Reply

+1 yI hate it. A persons gender is a unique special part of them, something they're born with. If they want to provide people (who, lets face it, are already adults) with the ability to custom order these dolls, sure, great, fine, they're adults. But for kids who are still figuring out who they are and how the world works? No thanks. It's bad enough that the guy dolls are so massively misrepresented and under-represented in their line as it is and now to pull more money and market points out of the parents they want to appropriate an issue like this? That's like McDonald's releasing a diet menu.

+1 yI think it’s great, who says that only girls can play with dolls? Gender neutrality means that “roles” for men and women aren’t just for men or women. It’s not about physically changing your gender as a person. For example, women can be car mechanics and men can be nurses. It’s expanding the mind to be more accepting of role reversals, not gender reversals. Teaching small kids about transgenders is irrelevant to what the gender neutral doll is advertising. It’s saying that boys can play with dolls too if they want to instead of secretly wanting to and being shamed for it if they do. That’s probably men aren’t equipped like women are to take care of their own children. Because society and people like you are not accepting of it.
22 Reply- +1 y

Boys do play with dolls ie action man and gi Joe
+1 yI think the whole gender neutral topic is retarded. People are born either a boy or a girl. Once someone becomes an adult and decides ON THEIR OWN that they want to ACT like the opposite sex then go right ahead. Doing things like this though or adding transgender characters to children's movies is just wrong. It's not making children feel more comfortable seeing transgender people, all it is doing is influencing children to question what their gender is. A man who cuts off his penis to become a woman will ALWAYS be a man who cut off his penis. It doesn't make you a woman! Doing this to children is wrong and in all honesty it is child abuse. This has to stop, it makes me sick!

Their is no gender neutrality (gender is biological, we are wired for gender and we see it even in other primates) so the audience they are marketing their toys to are non children SJWs who don't care about the product. That's like when Gillette decided to release the commercial that did nothing but bash men despite the fact that their customer base is entirely male. They can do it, I just don't understand why? This doll is for the parents who want to raise their children without gender labels and I say, let them be. No one gets to decide what's good for you or your family or how you raise your kids but you as a parent. I just passed by a toy aisle the other day and they had a barbie with a prosthesis and they have plus size and tall and petite barbies now and it comes in all different skin tones to reflect the people that live in this world and there are people in this world who don't want gender stereotypes so now they have dolls for themselves or their kids. Is the world coming to an end because of it...no.

The fact that toys were so strongly gendered was annoying as hell. If I hadn'thad an older brother, I never would've gotten to play with an electric train, race cars, erector sets, vacu forms, builder sets, etc... I LOVED all HIS toys. I liked some of mine too. I dissembled the Chatty Cathy doll to see how it talked. Was really entertaining and informative. I think androgyny is OK. There's nothing wrong with gendered toys either. I think the whole issue is allowing all kids to play with ALL toys with no judgment.
+1 yI think it's interesting because it will allow children to dress them how they want. Unfortunately, gender stereotypes are already instilled into children at a very young age so while this is a step in the right direction, stopping the perpetuation of harmful stereotypes is the right way to go. These kids might adopt the "traditional" way of thinking because that is what they are taught is "right" (men wear pants and women wear skirts etc.).

www.mayoclinic.org/.../art-20266811 - +1 y
Just because someone posts it online does not make it true. Where is the research supporting those statements? I had a strong preference for toys meant for the opposite gender ( trucks and stuff) and I can assure you I've never felt like a boy inside. In some cultures, there are dolls meant for boys. So are all the men in those cultures secretly women? I could also right a very nice sounding article with lots of advice and bullet points, doesn't make any of it substantiable. In your own experience have you found little kids worried about gender at 3 years old?
- +1 y
There are studies that have been done over this and how they’ve found out how it manifests. It’s taught in child development classes. I’ll post a few after work because it’s asinine to assume that because you didn’t go through it, others didn’t. That study was speaking about transgender children and how they were able to recognize the differences between sexes and determine their personal gender identity. The Mayo Clinic is a reputable source on top of that. Again, just because you’re ignorant does not make it untrue.
- +1 y
I am avidly awaiting those sources. If I had been locked in to the say the profession I thought I wanted to be at three I'd be miserable now. I would have to see a credible study, their data set and statistical analyses methods before I can be convinced of this. Your link does not lead to an actual study, just statements. Mayo clinic may be credible but I want to see how credible the source study is. You'd be amazed how many statistically or data deficient studies get published. I've met 3 year olds who want to be unicorns. Should we implant horns on their foreheads? What if they turn five and want to be a horse instead? This is what children do. I've met 18 year olds who still don't know what they want to be, so when I hear of sex changes and hormone treatments for kids, I just want to yell at someone. I never take improbable sounding things as fact until I myself have examined the data. Otherwise Uganda would be called Tanzania since BBC, a very credible news source by the way, labelled it so. Please do forward those studies to me.
Saw this last week. I am always surprised how these liberals can get stupider and stupider. Maybe I should just stop. There is no end to their stupidity.

@leahzrc Eh, you never know. Kids pick up on things pretty fast, especially the profane. Think about when you were a little kid and your older brother or sister sad a bad word and you repeated it because you thought it was funny. I’m sure there will be little kids that point at them and say tranny and giggle. They may not know the entire implications of what they are saying but it will likely happen. As to why a kid wants usually want something, well that usually comes down to brainwashing through tv advertisements in between cartoons. Other than that it generally comes down to the roll of what the toy is doing. If it is a solider, a fireman, a police officer, a matador, an astronaut, a scientist, a ninja, a knight, a princess, a teenage bimbo, or whatever kids are usually going to pick out the role they think is cool so they can role play with their toys.
- +1 y
@leahzrc When I was a kid we had “action figures“… G. I. Joe, Army Men, Transformers, LEGO men, Star Wars action figures, some kids had WWF wrestlers, etc. So while they were not marketed as dolls they were still little humanoid we were playing with. Same thing different marketing tactic.
Doll: a small model of a human figure, typically one of a baby or girl, used as a child's toy. - +1 y
@leahzrc A doll is just a little humanoid toy. It can fit any role you want it to or even no role at all. For example many artists own articulating wooden dolls that they use to model generic human body positions when drawing.

But just like this is a doll:![Mattel is looking to redefine stereotypes by releasing a new gender-neutral doll for all children. Thoughts?]()
So to is this technically...![Mattel is looking to redefine stereotypes by releasing a new gender-neutral doll for all children. Thoughts?]()
One is just marketed to be famine and older because girls often want to feel like they belong in the group with their older sisters or mother so they mimic those roles in their role play. So they play house and make their barbie date and talk to guy dolls or play in their doll house and clean up and cook and crap like that. They have tea parties with their dolls and talk to them about food they cooked in their easy bake oven or whatever. In contrast a lot of boys have more masculine tough super hero like dolls that go off and fight to save the day from evil villains and win the war or whatever. We act like we have super strength and can fly around the house and do adventurous things. Thus the doll has to fit the role. So back to the tranny dolls, what role are they projecting? Who is the market for that? Why would it be a good business decision for a toy company?

To those who say stuff like "Children aren't going to learn gender differences" "children won't know what gender is their doll" "It's going to confuse them" Children with 6-12 years old already know what a boy is and a girl is and understand gender difference perfectly. They start learning gender difference at age of 2 and by the age of 4 they already know their gender and identify other people's gender.
If you give them that agendered doll they aren't going to be confused. They are going to choose the doll gender by themselves. They don't need anyone or ony label in a box to decide that the doll is girl or boy because they want so. I mean, I choosed my plushes gender when I was 6, an none of my plushes looked like guys or girls. I even gave gender to office objects, as anything was subjected to be a doll.
So, please, don't buy the speech that much, as almost every comment likes or hates the toy because of the speech and don't really comment or value the product by itself. Also, don't treat children as stupid thinking this toy has any possibility to confuse them. Children are smarter than most people think.

He had so much cool swag. guns and all... there was one that had a KNIFE THROWING ARM!!! don't get me started about my toy dreams... fifty years later I'm still thrilled...

@Screenwriter sounds like the OG sex doll 😂

@DizzyDesii Well, he was sexy in a way and sexless in the most significant way... oddly enough...

Omg sideways xD
+1 yNo, there are 2 genders, male and female. Everything else is a mental disorder.
70 ReplyHonestly tho how far will this multi gender shit go I mean be whatever you want just don’t force it down everyone’s throat

+1 yPropaganda, as always. Our kids are going to grow up in a world, where they're not physically disciplined, their speech is regulated and they have to play according to these sick social norms.
And then they'll wonder why society will collapse.40 Reply baby dolls already look androgynous. This is just sensational journalism, trying to get ratings and reactions from people. This is how media controls the country.

u +1 yWhy don't we release a Siamese twin doll so we don't make those people feel that they are unusual? The world has gone mad!

+1 yI noticed they only used females in the Time execs in the Time piece. I'm offended.
"Dolls re for everyone" is not a new concept. Marketing them as switchable IS.
We won't be supporting Mattel in this endeavor.10 Reply The Lady Boy Doll. It was only a matter of time. When the machines take over it will have already become a gender-less society. Even as an old bastard i enjoy the genders, would not care to live without gender. Shame on Mattel, they have sold out already. Oh i got that wrong they can't sell out because it is they who are selling us what we do not need. See all you trannies at the FEMA camp, bye.

Anonymous(30-35)+1 yI think they're cool. Realistic looking dolls, that look like kids. Parents dont have to spend a bajillion dollars on different "gendered" dolls because the kid wants a boy doll or girl. The kids can make them whatever they want them to be. Blank canvass dolls.

Yeah I'm tired of this gender neutral identify how you want crybaby bull shit. Outside plumbing = boy, indoor plumbing=girl. Fact I can't make that shit up. If your parents dropped the ball on that have a tissue but fuck teaching kids there no difference is how you get dudes driving through 3 states wearing someone else's face. Damn the country is getting fucking lazy and dumb. Anyone remember common Sense. That was good stuff wonder were it all went.
Opinion Owner+1 y@xwh068 in other words, yes, you are sensitive much.

I like a future where some pussy country didn't come take us over because we've all turned into neutral paussies. I'm proud of my country and I don't like seeing it too faced. Just like I'm sure it hurt your feelers or somebody said Elton John with straight. the way I feel about it if you can't be proud of America for what it was and what built it up to what it is now then gets fuck out

You see what happened on that last message how come she's getting some dumb or smart phones are illiterate they can't even type out what I'm talkin. okay I really got to let this go ahead and fly just the way it is because it's exactly what I should say why can't you cut the lady and pitiful are smartphones are illiterate wow
Opinion Owner+1 y@xwh068 your rant is very misplaced here. I suggest finding a different and healthy output for your pent up anger.
Anonymous(18-24)+1 yTbh, this doesn't really affect me and when I have a kid I'd rather have them choose their own toys as soon as they're old enough to do so. I love the little doll clothes though, I've always found them really cute and sweet

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LxqTBtW9iN020 ReplyIf they keep doing things like that, there won’t be any children in the future. This goes for the nonsense coming from Disney too.
