Why do I seem to repel guys?

Question

I'm not a very confident person, but I know I'm not as unattractive as I think of myself, like when I'm out I get checked out by guys and everything, but I can never seem to keep them around. for example, last weekend I was at a club and talking to this hot guy that I had met the weekend before. I had lost my friends and went up to him asking if he would help me find them. he was flirting with me all night, jokingly saying things like "you are hot as f***, I want to hook up with you so bad!" and he even put my number in his phone as heidi montag haha, saying I reminded him of her? haha I look nothing like heidi montag, maybe just the hair, but anyways, he didn't seem to want to walk down the street with me to find my friends, so him and his friends asked me to come to their friends house with them since I was alone ( we do have mutual friends) I jokingly said yes, I will come home with you if I don't find my friends, just trying to convince him to help me find the girls! then he was saying something about him being too old for me,(he is only two years older) and then he was just like one second and went to talk to his freinds, and then I turned around and saw them running away in the opposite direction! sorry for writing a novel here, but why on earth did this happen, what did I do wrong? and what should I say next time I see him, if anything?

Sounds like he was out to get some ass. Not a relationship. Confidence is EVERYTHING to a guy. We don't want a woman we have to constantly pamper and reassure she is beautiful. That's not to say we want a woman so full of herself we never have to reassure she is beautiful. There is a fine line and it's one that you honestly just have to find for yourself.

It doesn't sound to me like you have issues socializing. One thing to try to work on is how you portray yourself to others. You want to make it obvious you're available but still make yourself seem like a challenge. You don't want to make yourself look like a whore and at the same time you don't want to make yourself look like a total shut-in. It's something that you can only learn by practice. Can't learn it from the internet unfortunately. =(

Yep I agree with the others. He was just interested in sex.

I personally don't need confidence from a woman unless she freaks out at the slightest things. I go for personality - humor and interest...in what she does and/or in what I do...I get VERY interested if she also is active and does FUN things in her free time. It really bores me when so many girls describe their free time as gardening, cooking, and playing with kids. While I respect those interests and can enjoy them at times, it really does sound like a quiet/boring life as the sole use of free time!

He was looking for some action, and it was questionable whether you would actually come home with or not. So, he goes over and explains the situation to his friends, and they mutually decide you are a lost cause; so they decide to bail, and find the next victim somewhere else. You didn't do anything wrong, and this doesn't mean you aren't hot. Avoid guys that compliment you in ways that are obviously sexual, because they are most likely scum. Next time you see him, don't talk to him. But, I would observe how he acts around other girls. I bet he will approach the girls that seem like they are by themselves, and if you hear what he is saying it might be the exact same things he said to you. Guys like this have some sort of memorized script they use on girls.
