Scared to tell my parents about my girlfriend.

Question

How do I tell my parents about having my first girlfriend? My dad question me a while back as to if I talked to girls in my school, I don't know if that was cause he thought I was gay or what, I'm kind of a feminine guy, so I think my dad might be happy. But my mom has NEVER said anything about girls to me, like for example I should treat them right or what type of girl I should marry or things like that, she never even comes close to the topic. But I'm really scared to tell them I don't know why I've always been shy around my parents, and I don't know if they will embarrass me to her if they want to met her.

Well, don't say girlfriend but could try more along the lines of "There is a girl I'm interested in" if you feel better about that. However when it does come to talking about girlfriend just ask them to please keep the embarrassing stuff alone. If they are respectful parents or like mine they won't even think much of it outside of "a girl he likes", my parents could be weird but they were sane when it came to me or my sister bringing home gf/bf. (Though my dad did give her boyfriend a HARD time)

Bottom line, if you can work the courage, just come out and say it. It is an inevitable thing to happen anyway (you falling for a girl) and I doubt they would be to embarrassing :)

I have have a friend in school named Sienna. My mom thinks that she is my G. F. but, she's just my friend. Im scared of going in public because, i think my parents might think I like a girl and they might embaress me. So, I try to avoid girls in public and I try not to look at them so my parents don'tt think I like them. So now I live my life scared!!! AND I HATE IT!!!

awwww I don't think you'll have anything to worry about especially if they think you're gay. aha you're dads going to be happy! ahah and that's weird you're mom never talked to you about girls. maybe she thought you were gay so she thought you would feel awkward & uncomfortable if she mentioned anything. have you ever brought the subject up? maybe you can bring her around a few times so they can see you guys together & start thinking that you guys are a couple. like, you don't have to say"im bringing my girlfriend over to meet you guys" so you won't have to worry about them embarrassing you & all that drama. aw no worries good luck man! :)

When I got my first boyfriend I thought it would be hard to tell my mom. However it was a big relief after I told her. My mom sounds like yours and she was super cool with it. She was happy that I had told her. She did tell me just to be careful though She didn't ask to meet him, but I wanted it and it went very smooth. I think it would be better in the long run to tell them, it was good for me, and now I am not so shy around my mom any more =)
