Met this guy 3 1/2 yrs. ago; I was a freshman, he a senior. He had a girlfriend that year, but broke up with her towards the end of the school year. I then started noticing his good qualities, his sincerity, etc. He'd try to scare me when I'd be at his family's house, etc. and look at me with this sparkle in his eyes.
The following year, I didn't go back to the college, and didn't see him for a whole year.
The next school year (last yr.) he said hello to me one of the first days I was back, and now we were in the same yr. of college.. We had some good conversations, and across the board he made it clear that he didn't want to date anyone on campus, and didn't want to appear to be a flirt. However, out of the girls on campus, he teased me a lot, and would tell me hello with this awkward, teasing voice...because I guess it just cost him to much to be serious.. there was a tender, soft spot in his heart for me, regardless if he didn't like me.
Then, I went home for the summer, and this year has started off so different! Gone were the weird way of saying my name, gone were his teasing ways. We hardly ever crossed paths. I realized instead of waiting for him, I had to do something (as of a couple weeks ago) because I really do love him and miss the way he used to say my name... So, I've been REALLY SWEET to him. Smiling at him, looking at him, telling him good job at stuff, etc. And, he's at least replying and smiling again..
Is there any hope? How can I win him? He is sort of moody and sensitive, but also all competitive and a doer; one of those men that likes to build, and all that good stuff. he makes great grades, and he really is smart, and he's talented -- he plays an instrument really well.
What's a strategy? I guess I just really need hope.
Me and my ex broke up at the end of August. It was actually my idea. But, it was a mutual decision. Ever since the day we broke up, it's been eating...
