If you call a guy adorable once?

Question

I have been told that if you call a guy adorable that it shows that you are not interested in him for anything more than a friend.

So lets say that a guy is interested in me (like this will ever happen :P ) and I was interested in him but I called him adorable only once with out thinking would that ultimately mean that I only think of him as my brother or something of that sort?

If I tell a guy he's adorable, that does NOT necessarily mean I only like him as a friend. At all. I describe people I'm attracted to as adorable allll the time. I'm not even exaggerating. You also have to think about what the word really means. Adore. In my mind, adorable = I could totally adore you. Adoring someone doesn't mean I'm not physically attracted to them. I don't usually even use that word unless someone has done or said something that I find super cute or endearing. Which are good things. Thinking someone is adorable at one point in time doesn't mean I'm not also insanely attracted to them, or find them sexy at other times. Someone might catch my attention BECAUSE I find them adorable, and it's entirely likely that I end up liking them. Adorable is just ONE adjective, after all.

Maybe I'm the odd one out, but that's just my interpretation.

Adorable is like a puppy, a child etc. Usually not a sign of romantic interest at all with girls, if we were interested in a guy in the initial stages we wouldn't call them adorable cause that's more like brotherly/friendzone type of comment you make to someone you dont find attractive in that way.

i don't think so because there are so many means to mean about adorable one could be what you saying or the other could be that your looking at him and you have developing feelings for this guy

It won't instantly close him out. Adorable is not exactly the worst thing to say to a guy. Now that you bring it up though, I do realize that it's true. Girls call guys adorable when they don't want them as anything more. If it just slips, it's not a big deal. Don't worry about it. A compliment is not going to instantly make him go away

Its when you call them cute that your shuting the door in thier face. Maybe though he hasn't learned that life lesson yet and might have taken the compliment as you actually being attracted to him.

it'll show you had guts to say anything to him. shows you trust him a lil. that could be some interest. it'll keep him thinking about it for a few weeks maybe. so your good I think.
