I know you need to burn 3500 calories to lose one pound of fat. but when I eat one meal every two days, I can lose 11 pounds in 4 days. and the weight never comes back. this means I burned about 3500 x 11 calories in 4 days! but that is impossible because my resting metabolic rate is 1600 calories a day. So I want to know how this is possible that I lost 11 pounds in 4 days and the weight never came back.

Today I ate 600 calories. and will be drinking water, coffee and tea for the rest of the day. I do not plan on eating anything more. When I was at my heaviest (200 pounds) I could go 48 hours without food before I started to feel hungry.

please eat more! one of 2 things willhappen ifyou continue, you'll either get sick, or give up.

6 meals a day, 30 minutes of exercise 5 days a week, and that's it. strictly cutting back on calories while not exercising will not make you healthy and WILL promote weight GAIN once you give up on your diet as no exercise KILLS the metabolism

ok, I know this sounds really messed up, but you have to eat a lot more. here is how it works.

u eat all the time, but very healthy stuff, (to keep ur metabelizms running, you have to get ur body to get use to work all the time.)

exersice alot, eat a lot of low calories per serving and no carbs. like bars and light yogart. and a lot of not so sweet fruits.

One meal a day may loose you some weight right now, but it hurts your metabolism which is what determins the speed of digestion and has a very large hand in what your weight is. if you keep you metabolism fast then you'll be able to loose weight and still eat 3 to 5 meals a day.

Ways to do this are to go no more than 5 hours in a row without eating something, and that something can be anything from the healthiest food in the world to the greasiest cheesburger you can find.

Following that same rule, only eat enough so that you are satisfied, even if that means leaving with a few more bites left to go, mother was wrong when she said that it's best to finish everything on your plate. People who are in very good shape keep their stomaches 25% to 75% full at all times.

You also have to stay active, go for a 20 minute walk every day, head to the gym 3 or 4 times a week for an hour, Going to the corner store for 1 or 2 things? Walk, don't drive. You don't have to go crazy but you do have to put a bit of effort into it.

As a person ages their metabolism naturally slows down, but that slow down can both be retarded (the actual meaning of "retard" is to hinder, or hold back) and compensated for. If you stick to a plan that follows the basic premise of what I just told you, you should loose weight over time (you're not going to wake up tomorrow and be exactly where you want to) and it's the most natural way to do it. Once you're where you want to be you can start indulging more but not to excess.

Please note that I am not an authority on this subject but have read things from people who are and they say this is true.

If this is your first stab at it, the bigger than normal result is probably water weight. I wouldn't expect that to consistently happen.

BTW, how do you know your resting metabolic rate? Is it just how many calories you can eat without your weight changing or is there some kind of equation for that?

Question Asker Well it's kind of complex.... but I found I through a google search. They ask you weight, your height, your gender, your age, and based on that they estimate your resting metabolic rate. - 11 months ago

Realistically. you should be looking at only losing no more than a kilo a week. The best way is to eat lots of fruit and veg. maybe eat fish /chicken 3 times a week, reduce fat content like butters and oils and exercise. No junk food. although a treat once every couple of weeks is fine. You can eat meat but make sure that you use a spray oil for your pan or grill it or bake it, not fry or soak it in fats. Go for a 20 minute walk every day and get your heart rate up. Trust me when I say this is the best way and healthiest way to lose weight and keep it off.
