Forgetting your girlfriend's birthday?

Guys, would you ever forget your girlfriend's birthday? You know, the girl you say you love with all your heart and have been going steady with for a year? The girl you say you can't live without? The girl you say you wanna marry and make your kids with? You know, that girl, would you forget her birthday? Even if you were busy, overwhelmed with work and school, would you really forget you special one's special day?

My boyfriend did and honestly, it hurt me. I haven't mentioned it to him yet and we've barely spoken for almost a week. I can't believe he forgot and I don't know how to handle it.

So guys if you have, please give a little back story (did you really care about her, what were the circumstances that led to you forgetting, how'd she react, etc.) and what you think of it. Your points of view, especially, would be helpful.

And girls, has your boyfriend ever forgot your birthday? If so, what happened? How do you think I should go about this?

Your story is the same happened with me today... I totally forgot my girlfriend's birthday today... yes it was today on 21-11-2018 and I completely forgot about it. I called her in the morning and talked for couple of minutes about here and there and was about to hang up when she suddenly said..."wish me... today's my birthday " and I was like..."Fu¢k!! What?"
Just in a moment I recalled what is today's date... and I just spoke "Hawwww... shit... sorry... happy birthday... sorry"... I don't even counted how many times I've apologized for that since morning but she's upset with me... I love her so much that I never thought I'd forget her birthday... I'm feeling so much guilty that I can't forgive myself for today... instead of making her day rememberable I ruined it for her and I don't know what to do... how to make it up to her.
NOTE: We're in LDR so I cannot just visit her and surprise her... I'm gonna meet her next month when I'll go to hometown.

Not my girlfriend, I misremembered my mom's birthday once. I woke up early and cooked her breakfast and bought her some presents and sh*t and woke her up in bed with all this stuff on a tray. She both looked appalled and was like, "what the hell is this for?" and when I said happy birthday, she informed me that her birthday was five days prior, and she had been too polite to say anything. I felt awful.

So I guess what I am saying is that it happens.

does he know he's forgotten? I mean is it obvious like if you've told him dozens of times the date of your birthday or if he could have innocently not remembered if that makes sense

maybe he realised he forgot and is worried about you being upset about it

talk to him, maybe mention in general conversation how much you like a present that you got for you birthday the other week or something

then you might be able to judge from his response what happened...

my boyfriend has never forgotten my birthday and if he did..Id be so mad.. I don't see how that could happen. Someone's birthday is such a special day and its not a day just to be ignored. I don't see how someones boyfriend could get so easily distracted and forget!

I would remind him that it was your birthday, and depending on the guy.. I might send him packin' (BREAK up)

My ex boyfriend forgot my birthday..but that wuz because he was overwhelmed...he had a lot of stuff going on that week and I was upset too but I reminded him it was my birthday the next day without yelling at him or anything..i agree with rammie...The only way to know is how he would respond to it

Lol if I had a boyfriend and he forgot my birthday I would get rid of him so quick, that's disrespectful and I mean how the hell does that happen?! How do you forget the person you love's birthday? I have the worst memory ever yet I couldn't forget a friends birthday let alone someone who I love. To me, it would mean he really didn't give a f*** about me.

I probably would.. eventually. I keep track of mon-sun, but I don't keep tract of the days of the month. Never had. I've even forgotten my own birthday, and I had no clue it was only a few days to Christmas until a neighbor pointed it out - time to do some shopping.

Anything that comes around once a year I tend to push to the back of my mind, and forget about. I hope my girlfriend can forgive me when I eventual forget.
