So my girlfriend forgot my birthday

She gave me a big forgiveness speech and I've forgiven her but it seems she doesn't really seem sorry about forgetting my birthday. She says she has something to give me but its been two weeks and I've yet to get anything. Not even a card or some you know what.

We've been together over 7 months and we love each other but it feels like we're slowly drifting apart. It feels like the only reason we're together is so she isn't single. I know she loves me but other than saying the words she hasn't shown it to me.

I've contemplated ending things again but is it going overboard? Am I justified to think like this?

If you want to make it work, talk to her. Who knows, maybe she has just been busy and simply forgot. I barely know anyone's birthday, like I'm literally struggling to remember my parents' birthdays because I'm really bad at remembering specific dates. And, in my opinion, 7 months is not that long of a time. Besides, some people just don't take birthdays seriously, or they don't value them as much as other people, and that's okay. Just tell her how you feel, because otherwise she won't know that you expect something more on your birthday. You can't expect her to understand what you're feeling and thinking if you don't express it. If you don't show her that you're disappointed, she'll think that you're fine with it or that you don't care. Just as men aren't mind readers, neither are women. If you're unsatisfied, tell her.

Saying she loves you doesn't mean she actually does...

Sometimes people don't need to even say it for you to realize it, and if you're feeling forgotten in the relationship, either she doesn't care enough to keep you, or she truly is a forgetful person! & I'm inclined to think it's not the second reason.

It's not special when you have to beg for you birthday gift, especially when you're expecting it from someone you love. That's just sad.

it is not that big deal that she forgot your birthday - it could happen but the thing is that you guys have just been 7 months together which is still meant to be the flourishing ,full of romance period and of course that means being well concerned about your birthday ! red flag of course

Would she forget her best friend's birthday? I doubt it. She would be talking about it all week. Planning. Coming up with a good reason for you not to go. Women ate sentimental about these things. The most obvious sign is her lack of attention on you. That's the ultimate red flag. You would be a fool not to start looking for her replacement. Birthdays are a big deal. It's about u. Not her. If she cared, she'd be all about you.

if she doesn't show you love and forgets your birthday, then I'd say you're perfectly justified in thinking of ending it.

yeah that's pretty messed up that she forgot your birthday..but is she just bad with remembering things? my boyfriend can't remember ANYONES birthday including his own families so I cut him some slack..maybe you should say "hey.. that reallly hurt me that you didn't remember my birthday" and see how she responds.. if you really feel like she isn't that into you and is just dating you just to date then tell her straight up that ain't gonna fly..you deserve someone that WANTS you, not just anyone.

There are two reasons I can think of:

1) She ordered you a thing and it didn't arrive yet (that happened to me one Valentine's day and I felt awful)

or

2) She's planning on breaking up with you very soon and doesn't think it's worth it to get you a present (I've done this, but to be fair I had previously been dumped right before my birthday to avoid getting a present so I felt like I had picked the better option at the time)

If she valued you she should have remembered your birthday and wanted to celebrate it with you and maybe you are right, maybe she is just with you so she can have somebody in her life. If you want to end it then go ahead. She might become more negligent as times goes by.

You need to tell her exactly what you've told us here. Every last bit of it.

After that, if she continues on in the same manner (towards your relationship) or her actions seem unaffected by your conversation, then end it. You're not getting what you need out of the relationship.

I'd let her go. But make sure the reason you give her is not that she forgot your birthday - that would be petty. Tell her you feel you're drifting apart and that you don't feel like she's into the relationship anymore. Then say goodbye and part ways.

The best thing to do is talking to her. You're in a relationship with her not us.what we say may not solve your problem. Talk to get and read her reaction, that will eventually give you an answer to your question.
