OK, so I'm 5'6-5'7, and weigh 140pounds, and I was just wondering if my measurements work out to be an hourglass. I'm just not too sure what body shape I have.
these are the measurements:
bust: 39inches waist: 30 inches hips: 39inches
i also would like to know, is that too big?
Update: the inches are around not the width if you know what I mean

There is no standard, because quite frankly guys have different tastes. I love my baby and she's more pear shaped. Wide hips, a little chunky, but proportioned. I think proportion is the key.
We cannot know without a picture. I know a girl who is 5'8" and 130 pounds and had the most amazing figure I've ever seen in person (not even exaggerating). My sister has a gorgeous friend who weighs 150 but looks like she's closer to 120 (muscle weighs more than fat and she is an athlete).
Just post up a pic and blur your head out if you're embarrassed.
You can never hope to get a straight answer for a question like this. All people doesn't like the same things. So the truth is that some people will always thing you are too big while others will think you are to small. Some think you are cute, some don't. It has nothing to do if there is anything wrong with you or not.
According to your measurements it seems to be an hourglass shape. But does that really matter?
The only thing you can and should do is to believe in your own beauty and others will see it too.
well if your a female in that height category id say your weight is quite healthy. I'm not sure about measurements though. body shape gets tied too closely with genetics
You can't be "too big" to be hourglass. she's not asking if she's thin, she's asking if she has the proportions. - A month ago

if your bust and hips are the same and your waist is much smaller (9 inch difference) I'd say you're an hourglass.
as far as too big? there are guys who like curvy girls and guys that like skinny ones. if you're happy with your body then you're good. I wish I had your measurements as for the guys who think its too big- they can kick rocks, they may not be perfect themselves and maybe there are things about THEM that YOU don't like
the perfect hourglass figure is a 3:2:3 ratio. with 39" for bust and hips. you'd need a 26" waist. I think it's bull because it would look deformed lol. I've also heard that a 9" different suffices so you're there!
Lol :) so I'm like a medium hourglas lol ? - A month ago

And you weigh less than me. by like 7 lb haha. but I'm nearly 5'8". so I doubt you're "too big" like Mr Frantastic says. he doesn't know what he's talking about. - A month ago
Hm. I think if there is a 10inch difference between bust and waist and the waist and hips, its a perfect hourglass figure. You're pretty close at 9, so I'm sure that figure is there:) And seeing that your bust and waist are also the same, you must be!
I can't really answer the second question because everyone has their own build, as I am also 5'6" and my numbers are as different as another person who is the same height as me.
