What does it mean when a guy says he wants you to be safe?

what does it mean when a guy says he wants you to be safe? and he's more then a friend

Most of my male friends, esp those who watched after me like I was their little sister, would say that to me. Or if I was about to do something or involved with someone they weren't quite keen on..theyd end our convo telling me to be safe.

It means he worries about you. Whether he has a reason to or not is irrelivent, he's concerned for your safety, which is never a bad thing.
