is it weird to say hi to a guy at the gym?

He smiled at me once, usually we just have long stares/eyecontact.
He is really cute, but i get so nervious around him so i have issues smiling to him.. But i was thinking about just going for it and smile and si hi or something.

Not if you live in Norway. Saying hi to a stranger gets looked upon as invading privacy and could lead to social suicide.
But, other than that, you should probably just do it, and listen to everybody else who has previously told you to go for it.

But again , I live in Norway, and I can totally relate to the fear of him being all weirdened out. I know it isn't as easy as just to do it, but I don't think you'll regret it.
