Would you date someone who hates animals?

I love animals, we have 3 cats at home. But my boyfriend hates animals, when my cat comes to him he always says to him to go away , won't pat it, or says that my cats stinks ( they really don't) .

He said he just doesn't like animals.

I can't understand it , I love cats. They follow me and lay near me when I'm doing something, one cat sleep near me...

Should I date boy who hates animals? would it be a problem for you?

If the person just doesn't like certain kind of animals, I can understand that. If the person hates all animals then that would bother me. Something about it just makes me feel like there is something wrong with a person that hates animals. I have never dated someone that hated animals. I don't even know anyone that hates animals, so it seems really strange to me. How can any well adjusted person, not like animals?

Now if someone likes animals but doesn't want to have any pets, I could understand that. Having a pet is a big responsibility, and is not for everyone.

Tehre's someting wrong with people who dislike all animals' I can understand disliking some, but probably a person that dislikes cats has control or anger issues. I mean really, saying they stink, cats are pretty fastidious beasts actually. So this si someone who makes up facts to justify his attitudes. Probably believes iran has nukes, ande so forth.

I think that if your looking for a serious relationship with him it would be a problem, what if you end up marrying him and have kids and your kids want to have a pet, are you going to not have a pet because your hubby hates animals? I don;t think its right, I would understand if he had some type of allergy that makes me not like animals but if its just because , then you would think twice on having a serious relationship with him.

It wouldn't bother me. Not liking animals doesn't mean you would be cruel to them. Although, you shouldn't really tell someone their pet smells- unless it's in a tactful way.

I'd be afraid he'd hate kids too.

Most guys don't like cats, though, because they are quiet and clean. Boys tend to like big, smelly, obnoxious dogs.

i grew up in a farm when I was 6 and 7. so I will probably feel uncomfortable with an animal hater. and they say that people who hate animals and abuse them are more likely to do the same to humans

I don't hate animals, but I do greatly dislike cats.

I prefer dogs, and I would be a problem if they didn't want me to have one.
