I think it's something I call the elementary syndrome. Adults acting like kids. Redheads are beautiful, but rare. A guy sees a redhead, instantly feels intimidated by her exotic beauty, doesn't know how to cope, so acts like a third grader with a crush and picks on her. Basically... Guys don't confront redheads because they are intimidated by them. In my Freudian opinion at least.

There's a very strong stereotype that redheads are super high maintenance and wildly outgoing. It isn't true, because haircolour doesn't define the girl, but sadly a lot of people believe this, which is why they are intimidated.
I hope this helps in some way or another.
I think the guys are right. I seriously doubt it has anything to do with your hair color. It more likely has to do with the fact that they think you are really pretty and therefore intimidating, or there is something about your personality that keeps people at a distance a bit--perhaps you seem aloof, uninterested, stuck up, or something of the like.
I am also a redhead and find this to be true. I may get very passive attention from guys or they might stare from across the room but I very rarely get approached. I always try to be kind and smile and never give dirty looks (unless he's being creepy) but it seems like only the super cocky ever approach.
Actually its the opposite the redheads are quietist shyist blonds are the most outgoing thats why guys like blonds cause theyre more socially talkative.

you are probably like in my top ten hottest red heads list "for real" and to answer your question it might not be that you have red hair that makes it hard to approach you but that you very pretty
I don't discriminate, but I do find redheads very attractive. As far as why some guys are "afraid" to approach them, I have no idea.
Guys are not afraid of a hair color. There is some other reason why they act the way they do.
Im not. I peruse them.
