Guys what do you think of a rocker chick?

I fit this mold. I'm neither a femme-y girl nor a tomboy. as a rocker chick, I get comments a lot that I'm hot, however I end up somehow being in the friend zone or the get-her-into-bed zone. I also get guys who are intimidated by me, so it's hard to get asked out on dates. the guys who actually man up & make the magic happen are guys I can respect! wow I just love to dress rock n roll & hang out at gigs. what's your view on a rocker chick & her date-ability? how can this honey get more bees?

I really like girly/girls, but I read your question. I saw an analogous relationship between you, rocker girl, and my fiance who is super career woman. She is the woman in a stereotypical "guy's" world and she's had to be a "hard-ass" to advance in her career. She ventures to dangerous places, she puts herself in very dangerous situations with dangerous people, and she runs straight at the opportunity to do such things; she does this to be one of the best in her field. From the outside looking in, no one would call her a girly/girl; yet, she does have a very girly/girl side. I see how men are intimidated by her, and it would be complicated to know where to start if a guy did want to make "the magic" happen.

My opinion is this, leave the rock 'n roll dress for hanging out at "gigs." When you find someone who shares your interest in music, go out to the "gigs" and let your "rocker" flag fly. However, leave the rocker look for the rocker scene. Try to be more femme-y on occasion. When you go on a date to some place not "rocking," insist on being treated like a lady. Let guys know you're not easy, and they're going to have to work for your affection just like any other girl. Just because you rock, doesn't mean you're easy.

In the work world, my fiance is the "hard-ass." At a party, she is the most puts the lady in ladylike. My fiance is not the "one dimensional" girl; she's complicated. You can be the "rocker" and the lady. You don't have to the "one dimensional" girl. Being more than "one dimensional" will only make you more attractive.

Rocker chicks are absolutely dating material. I'm 28 and I have a crush on the lovely jaguar wielding Care Failure. From my perspective its hard to believe that you have trouble getting dates. Is it that you find you're meeting guys but their not asking or they're not approaching you at all? If they're talking to you but not taking initiative, drop hints that you're free, socially/romantically. If guys just aren't approaching, use your girlishly inviting smile that melts mens hearts, that should lure some in.

Well another dimension to add is that I actually work in the rock scene I run in. I have a position of power, so to speak. a lot of the guys I meet are rockers & are in bands that I promote & book. I'm pretty dialed in town, & many guys who share a mutual attraction, won't go there 'cos they don't want to mess things up for their band - I'm totally pro tho', & wouldn't let that get in the way. having said that, some of these guys aren't in bands who I want to work with or who want to work with me...

So there's a window of opportunity. so I don't know! I just feel I intimidate these guys. some of these bands have girlfriends & wives that are totally normal, straight-lined ladies. so that's why I wonder if it's a rocker chick stigma of some sort. thank you btw for the tips on dropping some hints. good advice! it's common that I get into conversations with these guys about band biz. so perhaps I should switch gears

From my perspective, there wouldn't be any stigma attached to you for being the rocker chick your are. I wouldn't focus on that too much. As you said though your position, your work gives you authority over many of the guys you may be interested in, your problem sounds more environmental. These guys in all likelihood are seeing an authority before a date. A way to shed that may to be to seek out venues where you're not seen as an authority, if that's possible at all.

Good advice, however, I'm not associated with just one venue! I'm known all around town, so it's rather generalized. ugh!
