How do you know if you're being led on?

I can't tell whether if a girl is interested or if she is leading me on. It's really hard to swallow when you think a girl is interested in you and suddenly she drops you like a rock.

How do you know if someone is leading you on? How can you tell?

Well, I'm just asking in general, cause I can't tell if a girl is leading me on or not. I've been lead on before, and it hurts to know that she's been leading you on and later tells you that she doesn't think of you the same way.

Here are some things that would probably happen if someone was leading you on

- they will sometimes not respond to your calls/texts or respond back extremely late

- they will make up a million bogus excuses as to why they can't hang out with you

(of course they all sound legit and then they say something really sweet to make you believe that you two will hang out soon - don't get your hopes up)

- they can't really give you a straight answer when you have the "where are we" talk

- they never call and only contact you through text or msn (less attachment that way)

- they're out partying excessively and meeting other options while they have you on the side

- if she drops you like a rock, it's most likely that she met someone else. She was probably somewhat interested in you but was keeping her options open and met someone. I could definitely be wrong but I've seen it happen to other people and had it happen to me :(
