Girls when should guys know when to stop texting a girl? I need help with this situation I was told to keep texting but I dont think I should?

I started texting a friend from college who I have a little thing for. She is a friend of mine that I want to get to know better. We are home for the summer so I can't see her. I thought she was into me during the school year by the way she stared at me and always smiled at me and I had people telling me to get at her but I never did because of a very good reason I have. So I started texting her like a couple of times a week sometimes nice things and she seemed to really like me texting her and always replied. We were supposed to meet up at a show we were both and she seemed like she really wanted to meet up but stopped replying when I texted her I got there. After that text I texted her two more times and called her a couple times which I really regret doing and Im really embarassed because I never do that but I was beyond hammered and dont even remember. She replied at the end of the show saying she was busy with a drunk friend. I didn't believe it and texted her if she didn't want to see me she should have just told me and I would have been cool with it. She seemed to have gotten a little upset after that text and said she wasn't in a good mood. I saw the texts the next day and i texted her apologizing for blowing up her phone and bothering her and what not. Everything then seemed cool about it we joked around about it a little bit until she said she was at busy work and she'll talk to me later. I texted her good morning the next day and then two days later saying hey whats up and got no response either time. So I didn't text her for a like three weeks after that and she didn't reply to me again. And now I really feel like I annoyed her which is bad because she is a friend of mine and I don't even want to text her to meet up when school starts again. This girl (who she doesn't know) told me to keep trying and text her asking why she doesn't reply to anymore and she said she might be playing games. I don't think I should text her at all anymore but I don't know

I don't think you should text her. She probably is getting the sense that you are dramatic or clingy and needs some space. I'd wait till the school year starts up again and then if a group of your friends are doing something that she would normally be invited to you should invite her and just try to get it back to the friendship you had before things blew up. Give it time and space and be normal (non-dramatic) and you'll be ok.

I seriously think girls are complicated to tell, including myself. Sometimes when I don't text back I want the guy to keep texting and pursue me, sometimes I prefer them not to text anymore cuz they're annoying. It really depends on my mood but I'd say it's best is to give her a week without texting then after a week text her "What's up?" like nothing happened.
