She probably doesn't like public displays of affection. She might be self-conscious about the whole thing. I'd say you should talk it out with her. In fact, the first thing I will tell a guy when we start dating is that I don't like PDA. A hug is fine when we greet and say goodbye, and handholding is okay as long as there isn't too many people around. Kissing is a big no, unless it's something quick on the cheek or forehead. Every girl has different preferences, but that certainly doesn't mean she is ashamed of you. Establish what she is okay with doing in public, and I'm sure things will go over well (:
That's a bit weird. I understand that there are people who may not be too comfortable with PDA, but feeling uneasy even about holding hands is a little extreme.
I reckon she is embarrassed that you're her man, yes Which is shitty :( Nobody should be with a partner who's ashamed of being with them.
