How do I tell if a shy girl likes me?

I think one of my shy female friends likes me but because she is shy it is really hard to tell. What are some of the signs that a shy girl likes a guy?

This shy girl has warmed up to me to some extent what I'm not sure of because some times she is outgoing around me and other times she acts shy around me again. However she does enjoy getting her hug goodbye.

As a shy girl, Im erratic around a crush. I try really hard to ignore him, and give off the vibe that I dont care. I do look at him with the side of my eye, and if Im with someone else I try to talk louder and be funny just to get his attention.

If Im interacting with him I will look everywhere except his face, my hands will tremble, and I may stutter a bit or so. I try to cut the interactions short. I probably look and act like Im broken or something lol

Yeah that does help. Interestingly enough that is how she used to act. Now she is starting to get comfortable talking with me. While we still have not talked one on one for more than a few minutes. We are getting used to talking with each other. We have been group freinds for 5 months but only recently have we started talking with each other without the others.

- She looks at you, looks away again, smiles, the whole situation is kinda awkward... this kinda thing. You can "feel" it somehow.

- She might start talking to you online sometimes

(I can be shy too and for me I often start talking a lot and I can't look him in the eyes or I just ignore him completely because I get so nervous... if I don't know him ofc) ;)

Well we definitely have the awkward part. We both can look each other in the eyes when talking but our conversations usually don't last long and end in awkward ness like we both want to keep talking but we don't know what to say. How do I let her know that I like her without spooking her?

That's a good question.
I don't know how serious your friendship is, if its not too serious, I would just simply tell her or write her a message. Maybe text her if she wants to meet up with you and if she wouldn't mind if it would be some kind of "date" this time? :)
I personally would like that a lot.

Or, if this sounds too scary to you, try to be close to her. If your out together, touch her arm, if you walk, walk closer, just small little things. Maybe take her hand - and you'll know if she likes you or not.

If she likes you, you won't be spooking her. If she doesn't, be honest about your feelings and tell her afterwards that you really like her. So she knows that you have honest feelings for her. Honest feelings are never creepy (unless your a crazy stalker haha)
And if she's liking you she's just waiting for you to make the first step! :)

I used to be really shy so I'll channel that perspective. I'd say firstly if she's not able to maintain eye contact don't take that as a sign. Most shy girls can't keep eye contact and guys mistake it for something else.
If she seems like she wants to talk to you and gets into your conversations but abruptly stops, she probably gets overwhelmed and just wants to run away.
If she laughs a lot at your jokes even when they're not funny.
If she smiles a lot around you.
If she seems like she has a double personality, she's shy one minute, then open, then shy again. She's probably trying her best to hide her interest.
It's really difficult to tell because the signs could just be her finally getting comfortable around you. Best way of knowing is to just ask, or flirt a little and see how she reacts!

She is fine with eye contact. The conversation usually ends after we finish saying what we originally wanted to say. Like hi how are you doing in a class. How is your family. whats new hows the weather... She does not really have a dual personality but I do notice her shy/awkward meter going up or down sometimes. Like she will be bold saying goodbye and giving me a hug but a few minutes earlier she was some what shy. Sometimes she will just be shyly meandering around talking to a few people here and there. I usually call over to her and ask her to join us. Which she happily does, However she could have just joined in on her own. Like in a group game. Does a change in hugs mean anything? Recently they have been getting tighter and longer before they were just a quick goodbye squeeze and release.
