What does it mean when a girl keeps forgetting to reply texts and replies it late?

There is a girl who i text to on internet almost on daily basis for the last two or three months. We just keep clean and friendly talk. We just share one long message per day, about 10-15 lines long based on general conversation and thats it.

However, recently a new trend has started that she reads the message quickly and then replies after 4 or 5 days and apologises that she had completely forgotten to reply or sometimes that she thought she had replied me earlier.

It has happened two to three times which very clearly indicates that i should stop talking to her. But when she replies, she replies it almost as long as i wrote her, which indicates that she does put some effort into replying me and then i get confused.

Should i stop talking to her completely because she does not want to talk which is why she keeps forgetting to reply and replies late, but she cannot say so directly?

Hey :) There could honestly be so many different reasons as to what's going on, and without knowing her it's hard to know for sure. But from what it sounds like, it seems she could have the same problem I do. Whether it be talking to guys or just female friends, often I end up reading a message and then either end up having to quickly do something else and then forgetting to reply (truly) and also sometimes I just think of a reply and never realize I haven't typed it out. Or since they are long conversations, for me personally I don't always have the mental energy to reply right away and like some time to think of a response. But since I am so forgetful I often forget to reply for hours or even days. And it turns into days because I'm waiting for the other person to reply to the message I never realized I didn't send.
If she is in turn replying with equally as long responses I'd say that's a good sign. I know for me personally or even just other girls too I've encountered it can be pretty easy to tell when they're not interested. A sign she's not interested would be one word answers or even just a somewhat unresponsive sentence (if you are already are sending longer ones). But if she's asking you questions and bringing up stuff you never even asked about that'd be a good sign.
I personally don't think she's uninterested in talking from the information you've given, but then again I don't know her or even what she's thinking. But I wouldn't give up on it yet. You could even maybe bring it up, (not sure how it'd go over, but if she is a great girl then she should be honest and not mind the question if it's asked kindly) and see if your worries truly are founded, or if you are just being a little paranoid.

Personally, I wouldn't contact her again, considering she actually reads it , but waits 5 days to respond. That's disrespectful , and ridiculous. It's shows lack of interest. It clarifies your position in her life.

I'd overlook it once, but not if her texting habit of replying 5 days later was consistent. You can't build a relationship or friendship based on one long text a day, let alone every 5 days

Her excuse isn't that she's busy, her excuse Is... she'd" forgotten" . That shows you're rarely on her mind. I don't believe she" thought she'd responded " that's just BS.. She's making too many excuses up

If she was genuinely interested then she'd make an effort not an excuse
