for some reason, I seem to attract a lot of nerdy guys, which I have no problem with at all. I like nerdy guys. :D

I've noticed that they always stare at me, or smile awkwardly at me. I find that so adorable. I can see from the corner of my eye that they keep looking back at me. some have even tried to befriend me. they are really cool people.

but I was just wondering, what is the trait that attracts them?

some of them Haven't even met me so they don't know what I'm like. I'm shy and quiet so how do they know I'm not some dumb, ignorant bimbo? (no offense to anyone. sorry.) well, I've been told I look like a dork, not stupid, but kind of awkward, so could it be that?

wait. never mind. none of the nerds I have previously crushed on talked to me. and I missed out because I didn't approach them. :(

If you saw me, I look quite the opposite of a nerdy guy but I have my geeky tendencies so I'll chime in. I love the pretty, quiet girls. If she's shy and wears glasses, I find that to be really cute. I love an intelligent girl, one I can have deep, meaningful conversations with. She must be sweet and kind. I love a girl that isn't afraid to work hard and get dirty. She can't be a party girl, I've had plenty of bad experiences with those. I like a girl who has a sense of humor because I tease mercilessly, but she also has to tease me back, I like a challenge. She has to be going somewhere in her own life, be pursuing something she's passionate about and she has to be adventurous in the sense of being willing to go and do the random stuff I get the urges to go do. There's more, bu I'll stop here. I'm goig to assume you're talking about the hardcore geeks. I'll approach a girl and ask her out if I think she's pretty and just met her. If you're talking about the socially awkward, shy geeks then you have to approach them because they are probably intimidated by girls. Hope this helped!

Nerds are probably the most approachable. They might panic and be anti-social, but if you get past their anxiety, they're probably cool people.

A simple hello can suffice. A shy girl approaching a guy is really cute so don't fear! Talk about things relevant to each of you. If you're in the same class, talk about that, etc. Then talk about each other, common interests, etc. Just remember, guys are expected to approach girls so when a girl approaches, you get major bonus points so don't worry.

Haha you can sure assume that. That's what dating is all about, full of risks. If they're looking at you for a long time and/or smile at you, they find you attractive. Assuming that they find you strange doesn't help you get a guy, and the same goes for men. In the world of dating, if you see someone you find attractive and want to get to know them more, you have to go up and talk to them. Who cares what the outcome. The only person who loses is the one who doesn't do anything an assumes things

i actually ran into this cute nerdy guy in my class at at the cafeteria and I sat at a table near him and he quickly got up and left. ha ha

That absolutely says NOTHING about you so don't go around making those assumptions. You're a completely random person who went and sat next to the guy and he left. You werent even at the same table. He doesn't know you or anything about you so him leaving has nothing to do with you (unless you smelled really bad lol). It was just bad timing, wasn't meant to happen there. But you took action, good job. Next time say hi as you sit down, sit closer and see if you can start a conversation. Baby steps!

guys actually like that? I wouldve thought that they thought I looked stupid. when I get nervous around a guy, I look down a lot and end up bumping into people or things. its so embarrassing how I make a fool of myself.

yeah I find it adorable. it kind of gives off the idea that they won't be pervy or too straight forward. now that's a turn off.

well right now because I'm very curious about this question. and its a bit easier to talk to people online. not always though. I feel weird using the meebo thing. I don't go on it because I don't know what to say. that and too many pervs. haha

but its a lot harder to talk to guys in person. they do seem to be nicer than girls though. girls are just mean. at least to me.

well, I like guys. I am in no way attracted to girls, if that's what you're implying. you may be right about the not being ready. I just don't like guys who only want sex. that's pervy. You could look approachable, attainable in some way. Usually shy and quiet is perceived like this. And being abnormal like a "dork" makes you different from the typical girls they might see. The differences you have could be interesting to them.

Truth be told, I'm a lot more likely to develop an interest in someone if she initiates and shows interest. The first girl I ever kissed was someone that I initially wasn't attracted to.
