Why did his friend smile when he saw me?

I've only known this guy (let's call him Tyler) for a few days, but we've made small talk in school and stuff and I'm starting to like him. Today, he was sitting with his friends and he waved at me and I waved back. Later, when I passed his table again, his friend saw me and he was like, "Oh Tyler!" and both of Tyler's friends looked at me, and I sorta got freaked out. I don't know why?

My guy friends often tell each other who they like/ are interested in. Maybe Tyler told his friends that he was interested in you, and that they are just trying to figure out who you are (something like, "oh, my best friend likes her. I want to get to know her")!
Nothing harmful, I'm sure! Often times the guy's friends will tease him when his crush is around, etc ~ Just keep an eye out! :)
