I would say it’s mainly for crushes.. old or young (But mainly young).
I think if you’re younger (HS) it’s a easy way to let someone know you like them. Kind of using the holiday as a perfect opportunity to tell someone you like them. Since on that day everyone will be doing it, so it won’t be such a shameful, putting you on the spot, event (if it wasn’t Valentine’s Day). Instead it’ll be fun, and you can always back out and say “Hey it’s valentines” as an excuse.. lol.. If it turns awful. Also If you get rejected (Hopefully not).. you won’t be the only one. So excitement and laughs can make it an enjoyable experience in growing up/socializing too.
But if you’re older and already in a relationship..(Besides crushes) then it’s a day where you can either apologize (if you did something bad or had an argument) or take your relationship to the next level. Like be more intimate or just a day to celebrate and thankful.. you guys are still together/lasted this long.. etc. Make new promises, commitments, or even just to communicate openly.
In ways a girl could ask a guy.
- Give a card, letter, gift.
(Same as guys)
- Girls only (Physical) hug, kiss, wink. (I pretty sure the guy would get the hint.. hopefully lol). Especially if the girl initiated it.
But for some reason.. I believe guys are more suited to do this (Initiate the greeting).
I have seen guys crash and burn (rejected) more often than if girls do it.
Although, I also seen a few girls do this too. But If girls do it.. then it’s like a rock solid guarantee that she likes you, which makes the guy feel (Almost always) lucky and special (Unless he’s shy, then he’ll be embarrassed) Because he didn’t have to do anything.. lol.. Since it’s almost not the norm and girls hardly choose to initiate.
**This is My Honest opinion and it my be outdated. Lol. Sorry for the long comment.

Be straight up. Honestly I don't think girls should ask guys but sometimes it just ends up that way. Speaking from experience I was always WAYYYY to shy to ask girls to be my valentine so it just never ended up happening. Now that I have more confidence and am older I have the whole thing figured out. Just throw hints his way! Make it obvious you're interested in him! If he's interested to then it will all work out!
Its simple...It means that he/she likes you..Nothing more and nothing less...Personally I think that this day is a bit pointless because when you are in love, you show your feelings towards your partner every day and you are not just waiting for this day to express your feelings and celebrate...I mean, you can always do that..Anyway...A cute way?Hmmm you can write him a small card and you can put him in his bag secretely if you re still going to school...you can also spread a bit of your parfum on it and just leave him some hints on who made this card...Also if you re a daring one, while you are talking with him and the subject goes on what he is planning to do this particular day, just wink at him and tell him:"I m afraid that you have to cancel your plans, you re booked in this day by me..."and then you can leave without a word...This last one is if you are completely sure that he likes you...
I don’t think a girl should ask. A man should ask and if you have to ask him. Then, you are taking the role of the man. You have to keep him chasing you and that is how he falls in love. You chase him and he will take you for granted. Trust me, I did this with my man and fucked up a lot. Go out with the one who asks you and not the one you ask!

Shows the person that you're interested
It"s usually a stealth way of asking someone out.
Absolutely nothing. It's something children do in school (I think). One time at work, my team and I all exchanged those little valentines cards even though we were all dudes, just so we could lord it over everybody else. "How many valentines did you get? I got four. Oh, it looks like you didn't get any..."
I passing glance directly into her eyes while giving her a nice subtle smile. (not evil serial-killer kind)
The idea is to get her attention with your eyes, and confirm that she did with a smile. (NOTE: Don’t STARE. You don’t want to appear like a stalker! Lol)Lol funny you should ask you expect it to be date or bf/gf right? Wrong when your actually celebrating and say be my valentine your basically asking to be poisoned because valentines day is about a couple who killed themselves for each other over stupidity so to be my valentine is to be the suicidee.
Historically, there was a law forbidding soldiers from getting married. Saint Valentine performed illegal weddings, but only one day a year. The 14th of February. Unwittingly, people of this generation are actually asking someone to marry them.
That you want to take them back to Rome, 496AD and to celebrate the feast day of St. Valentine because the Pope prohibited your Lupercalia Festival. Pope Gelasisus I.
I just kind of shows some sort of affection to the other person. It doesn't necessarily mean that you are "ga ga" over them... LOL
I feel like it depends on who your asking and how strong your feeling ls for each other are like i feel like it could be as significant as asking someone to be your girlfriend
Why did you show a White girl going after a Chinese guy?
It means you kinda like these people you are asking out
I'm not really sure. But what I can tell you is that the only time in my life I have a Valentine for the day is when I actually had a girlfriend.
Back in history valintines day was about rape and orgies... It's now been watered down to make profit.
So yea to be ones valintines is it be basically to have sex with then.Look at it like national love day
You can express It anyway you feel love means to youTo be a special someone to that person on that day.
Where I live there's no such thing... Brazil's Valentine's Day is in June and our Valentine is our SO
Last time I was asked I was actually already involved with them... followed by a couple hours of morning sex. Aaah, the good ol' days. :p
I really don't care. I'm just typing something to type something

It's like I'm interested in them or I'm pretty much asking them to be my girlfriend kinda in a way like that
All it means is a week I cannot ask someone out without an added connotation.
