How do you tell a guy he is too touchy?

My boyfriend and I have only been going out for two weeks and he is way too touchy. I do not mean inappropriately, but always rubbing my arms, massages, petting my head (which bothers me the most,) and rubbing my leg. It is very uncomfortable to me and I have made up millions up excuses to get away from him touching me. Getting my soda, food, the remote, and thinking someone is in the driveway can only go so far. How do I tell him too stop without sounding rude or insulting?

be direct and specific. something like this "i like you, and I don't want you to take this personally. but I'm not as much of a touchy person as you are. I'm okay with [fill in the blank with whatever you're okay with]. but I'm not okay with some of the other stuff. so I'd rather if you didn't assume I was okay with every time you touch me. I don't think you mean any harm, and I like you, but I we're going to have to work together to find a middle ground we're both okay with."

that's it. short and sweet. start and end on positive comments, and don't say that it's his fault or yours. you're just different, but you've also got a shared goal of sorting it out.

you can't control how he'll respond. but if he's a good guy, he'll work with you. there'll be a weird little adjustment period before you both figure it out...

yea I'm exactly the same way as you are. I hate constant touching, it just violates me and my personal space.

Dont just give him hints, just tell him that it puts you off when someone is too touchy. A lot of people like the touching so ifs he's one of them he may not understand right away.

But just let him know that you don't like it that often(or at all). Communication is the key not vague actions. Getting up to get soda won't give him the message because he probably is under the impression that you like it.

He might be upset or offended at first, but after that he will get over it and he will get used to not touching you as much if he wants to keep you, then you will be having the sort of relationship you want without always feeling awkward.

Yea you don't have to be polite or rude just say it casually

Tell him "It bothers me a little bit when you " Just talk to him about it, without being emotional. Chances are, he won't be emotional about it if you're not being emotional about it. Also, make sure you're clear that you want him to stop certain things, not touching you altogether.

Just tell him nicely that you don't like being touched so much. It's nothing personal, some people just don't like being touched constantly!
