Never had sex, never made out, never been kissed, never even held hands. Even hugs are a rare event for me. Every time I admit that I've never been in a relationship I get a shocked reaction. Last week a girl flat-out told me "I don't understand how you don't have a girlfriend".

I'm not shy. I'm not afraid to approach a girl. 90% of the times I've tried, they have reacted well, smiling and laughing and making eye contact. But when the time comes to ask them out, it's always the same replies: they're busy every day for the next 10 years, they just want to be friends, or they have a boyfriend.

I'm 6'1", 151 pounds. I'm not terribly buff, but I started going to the gym 2 weeks ago and I've put on a few pounds already. I'm really into writing and acting. I have a deep, booming voice--professors have asked me to read things out in class just because they thought I could do it better. I have an easy time making friends, but getting a girlfriend has been the most outrageously difficult task I've ever attempted.

I just don't get it. I try not to lose heart, but after so many rejections it gets tough. Here's a few pictures of me. Tell me if there's anything that could use improvement.

The bangs are just not that great...You seem like a really great guy! You have really nice teeth/smile, great eyes, a fun personality...from what I can see. and um, don't worry about acting being "gay"...LOL it just means that you are a more kinestetic guy...and that's fine! Just don't go for visual girls...try more auditive...or kinestetic as well...If you have no clue what that means, google it. lol PLUS, it's really easy to identify what people are by simply meeting them... I know really great guys who are into acting and they are soooo NOT gay...and most girls like them. And um, ya keep working out at the gym... :) that's a good thing...

And ya, do something about the hair.. cut the bangs...or go get a hair cut by a haircutter...she'll get you the best results... :)

Based on your pics and everything you said (easy making friends, girls like you just not in a romantic way, and you're into acting) you might come across as gay. Which of course isn't wrong. If you showed us a video clip of you speaking/moving it would be easier to determine. If you are coming across as gay...are you sure you aren't? Are you sure you're not just afraid to come out of the closet? I don't mean this in an offensive way at ALL. I'm just trying to give the best advice I can. I don't know you so I can't tell, I'm just throwing out possibilities here. And actually, yeah, a lot of actors I've known are gay. At least in theater. I can only think of two reasons for this:

#1, Maybe you're falling into the friend category? You sound like a really nice, caring guy. Why not bump up the flirtiness a little?

#2, Just plain bad luck so far? Just like ModestGirl, I think you look like a fun, out going guy and I don't see anything stopping you from getting a girlfriend. Good luck!

Lol... It completely blows MY mind. You seem like you should be able to fetch a girl without a problem, at least for a relationship. If girls assume men are gay based on certain traits, then that's definitely not the girl you want to be involved with. I have a lot of straight friends with lisps, who take care of themselves, and have a good fashion sense. I'm not one of those men, but I take care of myself. (My fashion sense is.. Uhm.. Eh.. Not good. I'd need a girl to tell me what to wear =D)

Also, you're one of those "cute" type guys, blonde hair, blue eyes. Some women simply want a dark man, and there's not much you can do about that. I don't know where your standards are, but you should try getting to be really close friends with a girl and attracting her with your personal charms. Some guys just can't walk up to a girl and say a pick up line and have her fall at his feet. I know I can't.

People have said the same thing to me that you said about yourself not having a girlfriend. But, you're young, and have plenty of time. It's not alarming, and it's not uncommon.
